"We weren't able to approve your application. To learn more, call AT&T at 8003310500."

Everyone in my household gets same error when making a new account... No credit problems. I really don't want to talk to AT&T that sounds like a nightmare. Any other tips?

Maybe not. Not required until sometime in 2024, so Apple may be able to wait until iPhone 16.

Also, some think Apple plans to do away with the wired port altogether. The USB-C requirement only applies to devices that actually have a wired connection.

Sounds unlikely, but Apple ditched the audio jack and mSD card slot and got away with it, so who knows?
Doesn't make sense to change the usb port in 2023. Sales will be down due to recession and they won't change the form factor.
Expect it in 2024, no need to change the port early. However in 2024 we may have a wireless only charging iPhone. Longevity testing on test phones need to play out.
Usb c isn't required if it's wireless only.

Note losing the lightning cable will mean they no longer get 1-2 bucks per accessory, so no rush to get rid of it until the form factor changes.

This basically means the iPhone 15 will be like an "s" upgrade from the 14

For anyone who is wondering the wiki post is very confusing:

1. You get the Walmart Deal get $50 off (add up the installments).
2. Trade in a resale phone that you buy from GameStop or other refurb places at an att or Verizon store
3. You pay off the phone after your installments AND credits start of you want to unlock.
4. Your credits continue and apply to phone service since your phone is paid off.
5. Sell your current phone on any marketplace
6. Yes you are technically getting credits for 3 years, but after year 1 your phone should be "free" if you count the gift card

Example:

1. Spend $200 on refurb iPhone 11
2. Get iPhone 14 pro for $949
3. Get $300 gift card

Cost so far: $949+tax+$200

4. Trade in $200 phone get $27/mo credit
5. Sell your phone, let's say iphone 12 on Swappa for $400
6. After 12-14 months you start breaking even
This is not correct, if you payoff your phone early then they stop giving monthly credits. This is true for Verizon atleast.

I was able to order a gold iPhone 13 Pro right now. The website is really finicky though. Stuff is showing in and out of stock.

Nope! But if you think it is a credit issue maybe I will call.

Has anyone gotten this offer on AT&T by making a new account?
