if you got address errors, change your Walmart address to be the EXACT match of your carrier billing address.
There is no benefit to paying 60% or 90% down. Just get the phone, and you can pay it off by calling Verizon or AT&T. No need to stand in line in store.
This is very important for those of you doing this deal and trading in a phone. Do NOT mail in. Take it to a Corporate Store! Doesn't matter if it's AT&T or Verizon. Resist all temptation to mail in. Get a receipt to verify what you traded in! Don't believe the store employee if told you have to mail in.

In 2019 I lined up in store and purchased 2 phones in store. It was $350 actual gift cards back then, they were loaded and activated at the time of phone purchase but they said the funds should be available after 4 hours back then.
In 2020 I did 2 lines again but it was only $300 gift cards but via email. The emailed gift cards and PIN codes came in a few hours after the phone purchases.
In 2021 I got smarter. I booked each phone's activation appointment 1 day apart. This time I upgraded 3 lines. The first $300 credit came in within 2 hours of paying for the first phone upgrade. So for the second phone's activation the next day, I used the first phone's gift card and paid down $300. Same with the 3rd phone upgrade the following day as the second phone's gift card email came in shortly same day after they processed the second activation. Therefore I am left with only 1 $300 gift card to spend later. Yes I went there 3 days in a row, lucky it's only 4 miles away and you get to reserve the phone size and color you wanted on their available phones on-hand list.
You DO NOT get monthly billing credits. This way you are never tied up for 3 years because billing credits balance is forfeited if you cancel or port out. The only situation where you may get billing credits is if you did a trade in and received $800 credit or whatever corporate ATT was promoting. But then you are REALLY tied up for 36 months if you wanted the $800 or whatever the ATT trade in promo was offering. The trade in promo billing credit deal is ONLY worth it if you plan on staying with ATT for 3 years AND if they were giving you $800 for an old cracked phone. I have never done this because the trade in promotions always required a plan change for me. Sorry I can not shed any light on this type of deal stacking as I do not want my grandfathered plan changed. Perhaps someone who has traded in as well as received the $300 gift card can share their experience here.
Please note, you ARE required to do the installment plan. There must be some kind of cell carrier kickback commissions for installment plans along with the line upgrade or new line activation commissions to the retailer. The monthly installment amount to be paid is dependent on how much you pay up front during checkout. So if the phone is $1049 and you pay down $849 plus your state's sales tax on the full amount, it will leave you with a $200 balance due, your monthly installments would be $200/36 months = $5.56 per month.
After 2 billing cycles (probably when the cell carrier commissions are paid due to Net60 terms) you can pay off your remaining balance via the ATT website and then cancel and go to another carrier and request the unlock code via their unlocking portal entering your IMEI number and cell phone number and email address. It usually takes a few days for the unlock email with the codes to arrive, a few times it came same day as submission.
For me I pay them off right before the next year's promos and request the unlock, unless I need a phone to be unlocked sooner due to international travel etc, then I would pay off that line ASAP as it may take a few days to process the unlock. Once the installments are paid off, I can quickly upgrade again via Walmart Black Friday promo, wash, rinse and repeat.
So to sum it up, you will receive your $300 gift card via email shortly after the phone purchase and activation. If you want the phone unlocked as soon as possible, do not do trade in billing credits and be tied up for 36 months. Pay down as much as you can at the time of purchase. Pay off the remaining balance after 2 billing cycles and request the unlock. For iPhones you do not have to do anything after requesting the unlock. Once you receive the email that it has been approved, just insert your non-ATT SIM card and it will re-activate the phone via Apple's server and it will be unlocked permanently, it will reboot, and probably automatically do a carrier settings update right after.

The 11 pro max 256 has been in a case with screen protector the whole time so in good shape but the ear piece is muted, so you can't hear very well. This is for my boyfriend who was born deaf and got an implant as an adult in one ear that gives him partial hearing. Realized it wasn't his hearing, it's the phone. Seems the speaker is stuck for the ear piece. We had insurance on the AT&T for $8.99 a month (sadly) and they quoted $250 to replace the device. Ended up canceling the insurance. Looks like on ebay it's worth $300 after fees likely even less since the ear speaker doesn't is stuck.
Good to know I have an option to get the full $800, but in order to get that offer I have to buy the walmart verizon phone first and then activate it and while activating it online they will give me that offer of $800. You know this reminds me of my religious upbringing. Cell carriers require a lot of faith. I have left faith, but I guess I will accept it again.
How the trade-in promo works is that once you receive the device and activate it will complete what's known as a pending order on your line. Verizon will apply all eligible promotions to your line (i.e. this deal) and you can then either 1) go through their online portal to submit your trade-in at which time the promo on your line will apply or 2) go to a corporate store to submit the trade-in and the promo on the line will also apply.

You can however go through the upgrade checkout process with Verizon and you should see the $800 promo when you add the trade-in in the same cart. This should confirm you will be eligible for the $800 trade in promo.
Slicker yet is to buy a broken iPhone XR/Galaxy S10e for $100 or less to trade in for the $800 and sell your 11 pro.
Edit: Attached screenshot of $800 trade in value for iPhone XR when I added an iPhone 14 Pro upgrade on a Play More line in my cart.

In hindsight regretting not calling assurance or whatever the AT&T insurance plan is, I was just annoyed that they quoted 250 online after so many years of paying for it. I felt stupid for doing it and I was.

Anyway, I can't for the life of me find how you get $800 in full over 36 month credits for a trade in with Verizon (I'm on Get More...whatever the $90 plan is). When I put in that I have an old iphone 11 Max 256gb, it says the "up to $800" trade is like a third of that. It gives me an exact price. Even my iphone 12 pro 512gb it says I get something like $354.
What I'd like to do is get the iphone 13 pro max for my AT&T account (trade in my iphone 11 pro max 256 with verizon for the $800 credits over 36 months). Meaning a phone that isn't activated on verizon, seems they allow that. Hell, i'd even trade in my iphone 12 pro 512 on verizon if they'd give me $800 credits over 3 years.
I am purchasing an iphone 14 pro 256 to activate with Verizon, so I thought I'd give the old AT&T 11 pro 256 as a trade for the $800. Seems the catch is UP TO $800. You only get the $800 if you are trading in the latest phone. No?
Basically, it's UP TO $800, not $800 flat.
This is all based on me wanting to take advantage of this Wal-Mart offer.
Buy AT&T iphone 13 pro max 256 from Walmart with $500 walmart gift card (NO trade in)
But Verizon iphone 14 pro 256 from Walmart with $300 gift card (trade in iphone 11 pro max to verizon for $800)
What seems like reality is I sell both iphone 11 and 12 on ebay. Doesn't seem like Verizon wants to give me $800 over 36 months of credits, what they want to do is give me a small fraction of that.
Keep seeing people saying they're getting $800 in full with Verizon trade in after this walmart deal. How? Seems people aren't reading the fine print or maybe I am missing a link to click on.
Thanks...sorry for the rant...read this entire 60 pages of messages and Walmart has been a nightmare with AT&T with this deal. Verizon, has been easy with walmart...why AT&T is such a nightmare I don't know why.
It is not a standard trade in. This is separate promotion just for the 14 series phones. To see your trade value go to devices section on their website and pick any iPhone 14. To the right of the product image you will see a header "ways to save" Change to upgrade existing line since you are already Verizon. Then directly below you will see a promo that says save up to $800 and have a details link. Click the link and then choose you phone. You will see the 11 Pro is worth $1000 for new customer and $800 for existing.
EDIT: To clarify, I do this all the time when they have the GC+Trade-In offer at the same location.

Can't relate, no happy family here. But I do like to minimize the amount of money gets sent to the billionaires.
Thank you for your help. I am still skeptical. And I pride myself (at times) in that.
