Instead of just saying, hey buy this phone outright and we'll give you this gift card for this much.. But no, they make this as confusing af so carriers still win in the end.

If they have not changed the process for this year, you will get the Walmart gift card emailed to you within 24-48 hours after purchase. I have upgraded this exact way 3 years in a row via Walmart because I have an old grandfathered ATT plan and do not want it changed or touched. This is the probably one of the few retailers besides ATT Corporate stores that can do upgrades or add lines without changing your current plan.

In 2019 I lined up in store and purchased 2 phones in store. It was $350 actual gift cards back then, they were loaded and activated at the time of phone purchase but they said the funds should be available after 4 hours back then.

In 2020 I did 2 lines again but it was only $300 gift cards but via email. The emailed gift cards and PIN codes came in a few hours after the phone purchases.

In 2021 I got smarter. I booked each phone's activation appointment 1 day apart. This time I upgraded 3 lines. The first $300 credit came in within 2 hours of paying for the first phone upgrade. So for the second phone's activation the next day, I used the first phone's gift card and paid down $300. Same with the 3rd phone upgrade the following day as the second phone's gift card email came in shortly same day after they processed the second activation. Therefore I am left with only 1 $300 gift card to spend later. Yes I went there 3 days in a row, lucky it's only 4 miles away and you get to reserve the phone size and color you wanted on their available phones on-hand list.

You DO NOT get monthly billing credits. This way you are never tied up for 3 years because billing credits balance is forfeited if you cancel or port out. The only situation where you may get billing credits is if you did a trade in and received $800 credit or whatever corporate ATT was promoting. But then you are REALLY tied up for 36 months if you wanted the $800 or whatever the ATT trade in promo was offering. The trade in promo billing credit deal is ONLY worth it if you plan on staying with ATT for 3 years AND if they were giving you $800 for an old cracked phone. I have never done this because the trade in promotions always required a plan change for me. Sorry I can not shed any light on this type of deal stacking as I do not want my grandfathered plan changed. Perhaps someone who has traded in as well as received the $300 gift card can share their experience here.

Please note, you ARE required to do the installment plan. There must be some kind of cell carrier kickback commissions for installment plans along with the line upgrade or new line activation commissions to the retailer. The monthly installment amount to be paid is dependent on how much you pay up front during checkout. So if the phone is $1049 and you pay down $849 plus your state's sales tax on the full amount, it will leave you with a $200 balance due, your monthly installments would be $200/36 months = $5.56 per month.

After 2 billing cycles (probably when the cell carrier commissions are paid due to Net60 terms) you can pay off your remaining balance via the ATT website and then cancel and go to another carrier and request the unlock code via their unlocking portal entering your IMEI number and cell phone number and email address. It usually takes a few days for the unlock email with the codes to arrive, a few times it came same day as submission.

For me I pay them off right before the next year's promos and request the unlock, unless I need a phone to be unlocked sooner due to international travel etc, then I would pay off that line ASAP as it may take a few days to process the unlock. Once the installments are paid off, I can quickly upgrade again via Walmart Black Friday promo, wash, rinse and repeat.

So to sum it up, you will receive your $300 gift card via email shortly after the phone purchase and activation. If you want the phone unlocked as soon as possible, do not do trade in billing credits and be tied up for 36 months. Pay down as much as you can at the time of purchase. Pay off the remaining balance after 2 billing cycles and request the unlock. For iPhones you do not have to do anything after requesting the unlock. Once you receive the email that it has been approved, just insert your non-ATT SIM card and it will re-activate the phone via Apple's server and it will be unlocked permanently, it will reboot, and probably automatically do a carrier settings update right after.

As long as the phone is paid off and doesnt have battery issues you will qualify for 800 on the purchase of any 14 series iPhone.

It is not a standard trade in. This is separate promotion just for the 14 series phones. To see your trade value go to devices section on their website and pick any iPhone 14. To the right of the product image you will see a header "ways to save" Change to upgrade existing line since you are already Verizon. Then directly below you will see a promo that says save up to $800 and have a details link. Click the link and then choose you phone. You will see the 11 Pro is worth $1000 for new customer and $800 for existing.
ok, thank you. My iphone 12 is 94% and iphone 11 is 84%.

Okay, I will give it a go as the Brits say.

When have you done this? I do this all the time too but this thread is talking about trying to stack 2 different promotions that have different terms.

EDIT: To clarify, I do this all the time when they have the GC+Trade-In offer at the same location.
Most recently with the Fold4/Flip4 release. Taking advantage of promo codes, bundle discounrs, trade in 2 devices with Samsung, and then another device with Verizon.

Prior to that many times via Walmart, Target, and Best Buy with various GC and/or Retailer trade in promos.

Another example is Best Buy during the Note 20 release. BB as a retailer ran direct trade in promos. I traded in Note 9s to BB for instant $550 as down payment towards the Note 20 Ultras and then traded in S5s to Verizon for $400 bill credits.

Ok the only reason I ask is because it sounds like those ones you have listed are promos that were all offered at the same time from the same place. People on here are discussing using a promo only available at Walmart, and then getting a promo only available at Verizon, BB, or Apple. I just got done chatting with Verizon on both phone and chat, and they confirmed the same information I am trying to tell you guys. The person on the phone even mentioned that they had lots of calls about trying to stack this Walmart GC offer with the $800 promo, and they specifically said it is not possible. Idk how to attach a photo but I have a screenshot of the Verizon rep saying the same thing about these promos not being able to be combined.

I couldn't keep up with all the comments, please advise.

I am on ATT unlimited plan now, if I get the 14 pro and received the 300$ and want to trade in my current iphone 11 should I mention it to walmart agent while doing the purchase agreement or should I go to ATnT store later to do the trade in to receive the 800$ credit ?
Wil ATT store agent accept the trade in once I bought the phone from walmart ?

Weird that the only iphone 13 Pro or Pro Max for either ATT or Verizon are Gold. I hope some other colors will become available.

Short story is that stacking the $800 is NOT POSSIBLE and this thread is a clear result of misinformation. Walmart will only give you up to $250.

So, what you are saying is we won't be able to collect the Walmart GC AND $800 Trade-in on AT&T?

This is my situation, which might just make the Trade-In a moot point anyways.

I am on the old Family Plan on AT&T. I wanted to get the Iphone 14 Max. This should get me a $300 Walmart Gift Card. I also have an old Iphone 11. So, by glimpsing through this long thread, first issue may be me being on the Family Plan and NOT the Unlimited Plan. Also, you are saying I won't be able to get the Trade-In even if I was on the Unlimited Plan? Thanks in advance.

Disagree. These are 2 different promos (walmart GC & upto $800 VZ trade-in promo) with no link to each other as has been explained many times in thread. They can be stacked on top of each other. Attached is my chat with VZ rep as evidence and I have screenshots stored if needed in future.

Q: Does it matter where you purchase iphone 14 Pro to receive the upto $800 trade-in promo. Like BB, Apple or Walmart
VZ rep: It doesn't matter at all. As long as the device is in working condition and the battery is working well, we can offer the promotional trade in value for the eligible device

Edit: Here is Walmart's AT&T Trade-in promo link (again this is different than $250 trade in GC offered by walmart). The trade-in promo being discussed here is being offered by carrier such as ATT & VZ

Your situation is the same as mine, except I'm on the Family Plan, which I'm not sure will get the trade-in discount.

Did you already get your gift card via email as well? And did you have to activate it first before the gift card came?

Um... You aren't trading in for credit, you are trading in for promo. Two different things
This is Verizon you're talking about, they MIGHT, in the fine print, limit the Promo to only phones purchased through Verizon.

The majority of people are not talking about trading in at WM. They're referring to trading in at ATT or VZ. As it's been mentioned numerous times, people have done this for years. I've even done it with target. I bought an 11 pro max during the holidays when they were offering $300 gift card. THEN I went to Att and traded in my old iphone for the $800 credit. NO PROBLEMS whatsoever
