if you got address errors, change your Walmart address to be the EXACT match of your carrier billing address.
There is no benefit to paying 60% or 90% down. Just get the phone, and you can pay it off by calling Verizon or AT&T. No need to stand in line in store.
This is very important for those of you doing this deal and trading in a phone. Do NOT mail in. Take it to a Corporate Store! Doesn't matter if it's AT&T or Verizon. Resist all temptation to mail in. Get a receipt to verify what you traded in! Don't believe the store employee if told you have to mail in.

In 2019 I lined up in store and purchased 2 phones in store. It was $350 actual gift cards back then, they were loaded and activated at the time of phone purchase but they said the funds should be available after 4 hours back then.
In 2020 I did 2 lines again but it was only $300 gift cards but via email. The emailed gift cards and PIN codes came in a few hours after the phone purchases.
In 2021 I got smarter. I booked each phone's activation appointment 1 day apart. This time I upgraded 3 lines. The first $300 credit came in within 2 hours of paying for the first phone upgrade. So for the second phone's activation the next day, I used the first phone's gift card and paid down $300. Same with the 3rd phone upgrade the following day as the second phone's gift card email came in shortly same day after they processed the second activation. Therefore I am left with only 1 $300 gift card to spend later. Yes I went there 3 days in a row, lucky it's only 4 miles away and you get to reserve the phone size and color you wanted on their available phones on-hand list.
You DO NOT get monthly billing credits. This way you are never tied up for 3 years because billing credits balance is forfeited if you cancel or port out. The only situation where you may get billing credits is if you did a trade in and received $800 credit or whatever corporate ATT was promoting. But then you are REALLY tied up for 36 months if you wanted the $800 or whatever the ATT trade in promo was offering. The trade in promo billing credit deal is ONLY worth it if you plan on staying with ATT for 3 years AND if they were giving you $800 for an old cracked phone. I have never done this because the trade in promotions always required a plan change for me. Sorry I can not shed any light on this type of deal stacking as I do not want my grandfathered plan changed. Perhaps someone who has traded in as well as received the $300 gift card can share their experience here.
Please note, you ARE required to do the installment plan. There must be some kind of cell carrier kickback commissions for installment plans along with the line upgrade or new line activation commissions to the retailer. The monthly installment amount to be paid is dependent on how much you pay up front during checkout. So if the phone is $1049 and you pay down $849 plus your state's sales tax on the full amount, it will leave you with a $200 balance due, your monthly installments would be $200/36 months = $5.56 per month.
After 2 billing cycles (probably when the cell carrier commissions are paid due to Net60 terms) you can pay off your remaining balance via the ATT website and then cancel and go to another carrier and request the unlock code via their unlocking portal entering your IMEI number and cell phone number and email address. It usually takes a few days for the unlock email with the codes to arrive, a few times it came same day as submission.
For me I pay them off right before the next year's promos and request the unlock, unless I need a phone to be unlocked sooner due to international travel etc, then I would pay off that line ASAP as it may take a few days to process the unlock. Once the installments are paid off, I can quickly upgrade again via Walmart Black Friday promo, wash, rinse and repeat.
So to sum it up, you will receive your $300 gift card via email shortly after the phone purchase and activation. If you want the phone unlocked as soon as possible, do not do trade in billing credits and be tied up for 36 months. Pay down as much as you can at the time of purchase. Pay off the remaining balance after 2 billing cycles and request the unlock. For iPhones you do not have to do anything after requesting the unlock. Once you receive the email that it has been approved, just insert your non-ATT SIM card and it will re-activate the phone via Apple's server and it will be unlocked permanently, it will reboot, and probably automatically do a carrier settings update right after.

They do activate T-Mobile lines but no eGC.
1. They said that if you sign up for Walmart plus, you'll get the promo early. That might have been the case, but the terms and conditions still read that wasn't the case.
2. AT&T ... you're lucky if you got through to buy one. They kept saying go into the store. People with 800 credit score, address was correct, zip code, etc. If you were on AT&T, well...they want you to come into their store for their full price promo. 36 months...jail time.
3. The stores...since this is largely an online deal, the stores are more miss than hit. The two stores I went to didn't even know anything about it and spent an hour each just trying to get someone to find out they don't have iphone 14 pros or 13 pro max. Can't they just print off a list of what they have ahead of time and cross it out as they sell. No, they don't have anybody requesting product like this
Now, I have Verizon. I was going for a friend in need. We left empty handed which was a possibility. However, I do wish we could go back to the old days where there is just one iphone of each variety or even one iphone of any category to sell. There was literally none of that.
4. The day of black friday walmart deal, iphone deal is still there and is still there until dec 2nd. Yet the terms say it has to be activated by Dec 2nd. Now, I suspect that this is just somebody in charge that doesn't know what they heck they are doing. But if you order today on Black Friday, you'll get a delivery date on Dec 5th.

It's not like this is a new product. The associates and all the workers at walmart. I hear you. It's your corporate headquarters.
As to all you slickdealers that got in early. High Five.
I am sorry you had such a terrible experience. This is my 4th year upgrading. I have done it online AND in store the past 2 years. As a matter of fact, I just came back right now with a 13 Pro with $450 eGC and a 13 ProMax with $500 eGC. I had them process each phone separately so that I can use one of the eGC to pay down the other one and have only 1 eGC to worry about going forward.
The cell phone kiosks are run by 3rd party, and each region may have different 3rd party vendors and equipment allocations. The one I go to is in Northern Central CA. They have been very organized all these years. They have a pre-printed list of all the phones they have in the back. As they sell them, they are crossed off. I was surprised that they still had 13 ProMax available as of today Saturday afternoon 11/26/22. The 13 ProMax was the hot item with the $500 eGC bringing down the net cost to $599 plus taxes, couldn't pass it up so I pulled the trigger. Also as of tonight I was also surprised they still have some 14 ProMax in 128.
The 3rd party vendors at the brick and mortar Walmart kiosks never have 512 or 1TB models, so I was able to order online at 9:15 AM Pacific this past Monday 11/21/2022 with the W+ early access . W+ accounts had 7 hours of head start as non W+ accounts showed 0 availability online until 4:00 PM that day (7:00 PM EST).
Many here reported issues getting past the vendor activation and credit approvals. It has been suggested making sure their cell carrier address matches the Walmart account address, any discrepancy would trigger a fail. Others said they had to call the the cell provider and made sure they had all line balances paid off first and then it processed fine afterwards. Any little discrepancy would trigger a fail. Yes that sucks.
I am glad the past 2 years of ordering online, mine went through fine, because I have an old grandfathered legacy plan and every year I fret having it hiccup and not being able to order the bigger storage sized phones because those are only available online and not in store.
I hope you can find a Walmart cell phone kiosk with knowledgeable staff and inventory for next year as these are pretty decent deals if you can get them as they don't touch your service plans and don't hand cuff you with 36 month bill credit promos. I hope those that ordered and are receiving their phones after 12/2/2022 can sill get their eGC properly. They should have an email acknowledging they are receiving the eGC promo via email after order processing. Technically if the system approves your order and ships it out, that phone line is "upgraded and activated" already. Just don't place any cell phone orders after 12/2/2022 or you will pay full price without the promos.
Happy Holidays!

I have not got the GC email, anyone care to tell me which Email address is that GC email sent from?
Thanks
If you purchased phone in store, the cell phone kiosk rep asks what email address for your eGC to be sent to. The supplied email address is also printed in your paperwork. Review it to see if it got spelled wrong.
I purchased 2 phones today in store and both eGC emails literally came in via email 2 minutes after paying my phone taxes at the register. Check your spam folder?
The sender is [email protected]
Perhaps add that email address as VIP in iOS Mail App.
I already have a prepaid plan and don't want to switch over to the post paid.
Would appreciate the feedback.
And if you look at the gift card terms on Walmart.com, it states "Offer valid upon activation of eligible phone with qualifying AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile device payment plan."
