Any opportunity to put a smaller diameter wheel on your car to save on tires?

I took my '15 Sienna from 18" to 17" (the only OEM sizes), '13 ES300h from 17" to 16" (because the Avalon platform on which it is based supported 16"), '06 Beetle down from 18" to 15" (because the ancient Golf platform on which it was build had supported 15"). As a bonus, you will likely get marginal improvements in mileage. Just stop trying to pull those Fast & Furious corners...

Good luck!
Jon

You are missing the point. The tire that I need is more than $110, so buy 3 get 1 free is a better deal for me.

I have done it in the past before. If it is a rebate deal, you can tell your instore rep to make it an instant rebate and you will buy their set of tires. Now with this blackfriday double dipping deal, you already get $110 instant and some tires do comes with their own manufacturer rebate so perhaps they can combine it? Now this deal is asking you to make an account and buy online. If you go into the store, can they value you that same deal? I think they can and should.

Also, you save an extra 5% or triple dipping the deal if you sign up for their credit card. I usually don't but it is an added option if you want to roll that way. I gotta wait a week to get me them tires. Knock on wood, my tires are bald now.

Anyone know where they are going to run a continental tire sale? All I can find from most dealers are the $70 mail in rebate.

Well the goodyear tire is up to $210 off. What kind of tire is $210 each that you need to make it a better deal?
I mean my truck tires are normally 200 or more each

I think you may be missing the point, if you get $210 off total and your tires are $180 each then this would be better than buy 3 get 1 free

I haven't seen a good continental sale in a while, lately I've always seen more michelin than contis

Edit: This was mostly at DT

Just checked and maybe a couple of Continental varieties on sale at Walmart. Nothing great. I'm particularly interested in the CrossContact LX25 in 235/50R19 but they seem to be full price everywhere with a $50 mail in rebate at best.

How will these prices compare to the current Walmart Black Friday deal?
I wonder the same thing. Any difference between goodyear assurance max life vs the outlast?

Yeah had to shell out the full price at tirerack for 235/60/R17 for conti lx 25.
But they offer $70 rebate on the true contact which is a little bit cheaper tire. Overall even with no discount I am well ahead of the costco deal.

Blizzak is a full throttle snow tire. Might be good somewhere in Wisconsin. I would run them myself if 1) we had enough snow on east 2) I had summer tire +wheels and winter tire + wheels sets.
Noisy on dry pavement and will degrade fast in the summer. But the best on snow/ice and winter.
Otherwise if you are on a budget, then you are better off by buying 1 universal all season tire which is CC2. CC2 is the best among year around tires in dry/wet/snow/ice.
But because it is good, you have other cons: drops mpg a bit, soft tire - you will not see 80K miles even close, there are certainly quieter tires out there.

Just bought 5 Wrangler Duratrac tires. Wish I had waited to save a little money. Anyone know if I can call them on the 24th and see if they could do a price adjustment to get the promo?

I'm thinking of buying a set for an Acura MDX. I live in Cali so any type would do. But wanted to ask does anyone know if I was to buy and keep them in the garage, would the rubber deteriorate?
What's your plan exactly? Tires, even if kept out of the sun, after ~6yrs they've degraded a bit already. I'd recommend ordering some used tires off of ebay or something if you intend to use up the tread before ~6yrs.
