Any opportunity to put a smaller diameter wheel on your car to save on tires?

I took my '15 Sienna from 18" to 17" (the only OEM sizes), '13 ES300h from 17" to 16" (because the Avalon platform on which it is based supported 16"), '06 Beetle down from 18" to 15" (because the ancient Golf platform on which it was build had supported 15"). As a bonus, you will likely get marginal improvements in mileage. Just stop trying to pull those Fast & Furious corners...

Good luck!

You are missing the point. The tire that I need is more than $110, so buy 3 get 1 free is a better deal for me.

If you want Michelin tires, get them now with the $110 (online only) off at Discount Tires. While Costco may have $150, they are out of stock on almost everything. Add the 5% military discount @ Discount Tires. Though 3 for 1 deal is a much better deal if you can find it.

I just got a new set installed yesterday of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 at $355 a piece. With the discounts, I got installation and half my insurance paid for.

I must be missing something, as I don't see any deals here. The trick part is the words, "Up to ...".

When I go to the site the only tires showing up for $110 are Michelin, Firestone and Bridgestone and the dates those rebates are good for is not on Black Friday.

2nd when I look at the cost of those tires for my car they are on backorder and outrageous so the $110 savings is a joke.

Maybe on Black Friday there will be $110 on Goodyear, I don't know but when I look at Good Year the rebate is not the $100, as that is for the most expensive tires, but only $25 on a set of 4.

I should add I don't have some expensive car, it is just a ford focus.

So for the basic Goodyear Assurance they want $133 per tire. That is $532 for a set of 4 before the cost to mount and balance, which is another $104 and that does not include the additional $100 fee they want for road side hazard.

So now we are up to $636. Oh but I get tehe $25 rebate, taking it down to $611. Wow what a bargain. Heck even if I got the $110 off which I do not see it is still $511.

Am I missing something here. Where is the deal?????

Last time I bought was at Costco, when they had a rebate and offered 1 cent installation, now that was a deal. Oh and it came with free road side hazard.

So I started to look around and I see Tire Kingdom is offering buy 2 get 2. Now they rip you off as you have to buy their full installation package that includes everything which is another $132. But still even with that after the 2 free tires for an Aspen GT-AS it is only $368.61 for a set of 4 tires. Maybe the Aspen is not as good as the Goodyear, though its reviews seem to be at least as good.

Will the sale be on discount tire direct as well if we don't have a local discount tire?

Blizzak is a full throttle snow tire. Might be good somewhere in Wisconsin. I would run them myself if 1) we had enough snow on east 2) I had summer tire +wheels and winter tire + wheels sets.
Noisy on dry pavement and will degrade fast in the summer. But the best on snow/ice and winter.
Otherwise if you are on a budget, then you are better off by buying 1 universal all season tire which is CC2. CC2 is the best among year around tires in dry/wet/snow/ice.
But because it is good, you have other cons: drops mpg a bit, soft tire - you will not see 80K miles even close, there are certainly quieter tires out there.
Thank you for clarification. Was under assumption the cc2 were winter only but they're not. Good to see a nice all season tire out there.

You are welcome. Yeah, cc2's design is misleading. Please keep in mind that real users reported the loss of $8K in 10 years just on the added fuel consumption. It also can last you anywhere between 20K-40K miles. Overall this tire offers the best performance among all seasoners but it has a price to pay: noise, replace every 2 years, added fuel consumption.
If you are shopping CC2 then costco deal is/was great - instead of over $1K it was $850 installed for mine.
I personally went with the middle ground - Continental LX25.

Americas Tires BF deals are always mediocre. What I've done in the past is that I price match them with Costco, which they do as long as u have a quote. Then you can add any manufacturer's rebate if any.

I did read/heard that the quality of Michelin that is sold in costco is of higher quality than the tires sold in DT or AT. Am totally susrprised and not sure if that is true. ie. MXV4 primacy (same brand and same model tires)

Anyone know?

Of course not. Costco just runs the same market models but with different naming.
These rumors might be going only because Costco does carry the higher end Michelin tires, while at other stores you can buy the cheapest available Michelins which of course would not be so great as more expensive models.
It also depends on the model and production year. If you have the same tire but one is 4-5 years old new, and another was produced 1 year ago, then obviously the newer one will perform better.

That's what we are doing with our Rogue. It's at 6 years now and 45k with the oem dunlops and ordered the Michelin defender 2s for it to be installed next Saturday.

That is not true. Discount tire Michelin are same quality if you get the tire from Costco or DT. Load of crap.
