Any opportunity to put a smaller diameter wheel on your car to save on tires?

I took my '15 Sienna from 18" to 17" (the only OEM sizes), '13 ES300h from 17" to 16" (because the Avalon platform on which it is based supported 16"), '06 Beetle down from 18" to 15" (because the ancient Golf platform on which it was build had supported 15"). As a bonus, you will likely get marginal improvements in mileage. Just stop trying to pull those Fast & Furious corners...

Good luck!

You are missing the point. The tire that I need is more than $110, so buy 3 get 1 free is a better deal for me.

All Tire shops are a ripoff... They add up at least 40$ more per tire with installation and hazard protection , ..... fees... no other option ... we cannot balance a tire at home...
I had an order in at Discount Tire and it was $80 more with their 'discounts' than Costco was, $180 more with the Discount Tire 'certificates' that Costco does for free…

I've never had a tire mounted and balanced at Walmart, but they charge $17 for basic which is everything you need. $27 if you want road hazard.

I've been eyeing tire mounting and balancing gear for my home garage. With four vehicles, three boats and a dual axle utility trailer, I'm putting new tires on something at least once a year.

I just picked up tires from discount yesterday. They priced matched tires I had found lower priced by $19 per tire on Amazon. They even knocked a extra .79 cents off per tire. Which saved me $76+tax for the set. I'd highly recommend using the "found it lower" option on their site if you need the tires asap and can't wait for a sale on them to occur. They emailed me back the next day. The tires I purchased were also the lowest priced all around in the size I needed but the highest rated. One thing I wasn't expecting is the fact they didn't clean my rims on my pickup where they removed the previous balancing weights ? Not a huge deal but it seems like a small detail they could have taken care of for their customers.

Sent them messages about a lower price on two sets of tires and never heard back.

Sams has 150 off Bridgestone starting Dec 3rd. Does anyone know if we can get the 100$ rebate on top of it? Since the debate ends Dec 31st.

I noticed this too. I did price match to Walmart but they have to order the tires I need which won't be here until Monday. Problem is I did it online since no one at the store would answer the phone so all the online agent did was send the order to the store and said I had to pay there and it is after the MIR period so I'll either ask them to just take another $70 off the price since I placed the order during the rebate period or I'll just end up cancelling.

I bought 4 Michelin Defenders for my Honda Accord at Discoynt Tire for $628 out the door!! They matched Micheli s rebate & deducted from total so I don't need to mess with a rebate
Applause nice!

Well that's weird, Did you check your spam folder and how long has it been ? I sent them a message on Thanksgiving day and the following morning they replied to me. I also wonder if you could just call the physical store regarding the price matching ? After they price matched my tires the email just told me to call the store direct and the salesman never asked to see the email just took my word for it ? Don't know if it's something they have in their system after the request or not ? Confused

They finally responded today. I guess they were backed up due to the holiday. Price match granted!

I'm thinking of buying a set for an Acura MDX. I live in Cali so any type would do. But wanted to ask does anyone know if I was to buy and keep them in the garage, would the rubber deteriorate?
Yes, so buy a cheaper set

I have hard time understanding your statement. Why is that a rip off when you can't do the job yourself?

Costco has better deal if you want to buy premier tires. Discount Tire has better deal when you just want to buy cheap tires without hazard protection. Check Hancook Kumho General or Falken.

I don't get this. Pricing the same Goodyear tires (with the $210 off) is still way cheaper if you get the same 4 tires at Walmart. What am I missing here? How is this a slick deal?
Not sure how did you do that, since Walmart is generally the same price as Discount Tire with incompetent service. lol

It's not a ripoff because I cannot DIY. It's because a 140$ tire costs 210$ to touch the road. That extra 70$ - tax, which is 50% of the advertised price... is the ripoff...
