18V OCTANE Bluetooth 3.0 Ah Batteries (2-Pack) and Charger Kit with Tool Bag, down from $219 to $149.

Firstly, no, this is not a deal with the coveted $10 per amp/hour deal-rate, but it's the last of Ridgid's dying-breed of Octane batteries. Other than the new $200 8ah H.O. battery, this is the last way to get a 21700 cell battery with an LSA at Home Depot. Also includes the older battery charger, which seems to be of higher quality, and faster charging(?).

If you live near a Direct Tool Outlet, you can check to see if they have in-store stock of a similar kit with this battery. They appear to have the single-battery version of this kit in-stock at select locations. They also have a 2-pack available, but it doesn't include a charger, so it does not qualify for the LSA on the Octane-generation of tools. Select DTO stores may also have stock not listed online, but that would definitely a YMMV thing.

Deal alert got me excited. I've been waiting for this to drop from the $149 it's been at for a bit. At this price it might be worth considering the $169 4 ah and 6 ah plus free tool instead.

100% correct, especially with the current 'free tool' deal. But the new H.O. batteries are definitely different than the older 'Octane' batteries, and some people prefer them when they can find them. The 'Honey' extension shows this $149 deal has been available since early November, and previously listed @ $219. So not great, but better than before.

These were available @ DTO a few months back for just under $100, but they have since sold out. The local store here sold me the last couple kits for $72 about three months ago, but they manually applied the sale-pricing (30% off at the time) since they were marked as 'final price', and did not actually qualify for the promotion. They usually will do this in-store if you ask, but doesn't apply for sales made online.

This bat kit was $129 earlier this year. Very few were sold. Id rather get Max bats unless you have Octane tools.
