I think that's what I'll do. Return all the ones I bought and purchase the AirPods 2nd gen again. Another thing with Target is we'd get 5% off with a RedCard so they'd be $190. I'll probably buy them there and buy AppleCare+ for $29 from Apple. When I bought the original ones I didn't think I'd need it. But 15 months later they quit on me. Hardly used them. Not sure what happened as I didn't drop them. They wanted $89 each for each AirPod and $89 for the case. A hard pass.

29 bucks is worth it if you use it. The batteries wear and if you drop one or both in boiling pasta water while cleansing your pores listening to music your get a fresh pair for 60 bucks

Multiple reports says that they will ditch charging port all together. It will only have wireless charging.

EU ruling says "If device is capable of charging with wire then it should use USB-C port". They cannot force Apple to make iPhone capable of wired charging.

I think Staples at 199 with those who have amex offer for 25 off 100 as extra would be even slicker deal when it starts, especially if there is CB involved too.

Both sound very similar, AP2 has slightly better noise cancellation, and AP2 case is better. It all comes down to the fit. I couldn't wear AP1 for long because it just hurts my ear but AP2 has slight design change and it now fits pretty well for me. It's a personal thing, no way to know until you really try it out.

Interesting! I didn't know there is a difference in the design and fit in the ear. Thanks for the call out! I WFH and my primary purpose is to use them to take calls while walking around the house and when going for a run. So fit is important! I tried the AirPods 3 and they just did not fit
