This is the remake, not a remaster. You might be thinking of the PS4 release, which was a remaster.
I loved the original, and the PS4 remaster and honestly, as unnecessary as I thought this remake was, I gotta say I was impressed with the improvements. But I agree with you, it's too much for a remake, especially since the awesome multi-player isn't included.
Unless I'm missing something its remastered 2.0. It's the same storyline it just looks modernized.
They're still working on a PC version for this too. Even at a slight discount, this probably isn't worth it. You still get 60FPS with the Remastered version

A remake is completely rebuilding the game from the ground up with modern mechanics, controls, and graphics that take advantage of the newer console. A remaster uses the original code but updates it with newer APIs and some graphics upgrades.
That's an important distinction. While the storyline and gameplay is largely the same, there are some very clear graphical differences in this you can't achieve with a simple remaster.

Thanks for the technical clarity but it doesn't change the initial point. To me and others it is not worth it. However, to some it is worth it.
