Model: Sony The Last of Us Part I for PlayStation 5 | Verizon
Deal History
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
As someone who has also played this, $30 is not a value price. For someone brand new, I suppose it would be a deal.
Don't support re-releases like this by throwing your hard-earned money after it. Sony will continue to exploit in this manner if they see it's viable.
For people like us, this should have been a $10 upgrade at maximum, and even then my time is too valuable to spend another 20 hours or more on something I've already experienced.
Is this really a deal? This game is like 15 years old. I swear Ive purchased it physically and digitally multiple times over the years. On PS3, PS4 and PS5.. I am genuinely asking.

When the new $700 PS 5 Pro was showing all the graphic improvements in the Last Of Us, you weren't impressed? Wait for the PS6 version. Prepare to be amazed.

According to your own comment it seems like it is worth it if you bought it on ps5 as well. Not sure if this is the cheapest it's ever been but this has been holding up in price for a bit. Seems like PlayStation first titles tend to hover around $30. Ratchet and clank rift apart has held up around $30 when it goes on sale and that game definitely seems like it should have hit $20 already so this might be as good as it gets
I did see somewhere had it on sale for $40 I think it was but can't remember where. Your cheapest option would be to get the PS4 version and pay the upgrade fee.

I suppose if it is for the physical media then i understand, i collect movies myself. But Ive definitely purchased this game for under $20 on ps5

I haven't played this version, but I did play the PlayStation hits remastered version, which was $10--one of the best games I've played and best bang for the buck. While I agree that re-releases are a little lame, it sounds like a lot of work went into making this one current gen. I wouldn't pay full price for it, and feel like $20 should be the sale price. But as we've seen with PS5 games, $30 is the new $20. I don't think we'll see this lower for a long long time.

I bought Ratchet and Clank about 3 years ago for $20 at Best Buy...
That said, I love The Last of Us. Probably one of my top 10 favorite games of all time. I have bought it twice, on PS3 and PS4 (but I only paid $30 total for both) and beaten it 4 or 5 times, and I'll probably get the remake at some point, but I'm holding off for $20 or less.
