Almost certain he means he overclocked his 6800xt until it's a little more powerful than the 6900xt's official specs. Of course, if he had a 6900xt he could overclock that as well, so it's a pretty useless argument.

Honestly, I didn't know there wasn't a 6900 non XT, since there is a 6800 and a 6800XT, I thought maybe it also applied for the 6900 version. But I was still curious how come a 6800 could surpass a 6900 (let's say it existed) non XT. An my question was still valid.
It's so hard to read sarcasm/jokes/passive-aggressiveness in forums that I get confused a lot.

I noticed this price last night, but take note - while free Prime shipping, free returns, and shipped/sold by Amazon, it says delivery by Dec 27th. So taking orders, but none in stock til more than a month out.

Not useless, b/c the gain isn't much for $135 more.
You'll have to really push the power to achieve 10% more than my basic OC.

Also, this card is plenty close to upcoming release prices. It's definitely not worth it.

I'd agree that anyone who has waited 2 years should wait just a bit longer for a 7000 series card. However, I don't agree at all that it's hard to overclock a 6900XT, there are multiple AIB versions that run over a 10% overclock out of the box and have for close to 2 years, it's no harder to overclock a 6900xt than a 6800xt.

That means it's only 5% faster than mine. See what I mean? Too expensive and you get +5% if you lazy OC.

Get a 7900xtx or wait for 6950xt to hit rock bottom.

My 6800XT is arriving today from CA to CT about 8 days. Paid $515 after $20 MIR. All reviews said not worth paying more for 6900XT BUT this price is cheaper. Make sure your PSU has 3 VGA 8 pin leads. That's what the 6800XT needs, I assume 6900xt is the same. Actually read about 6900XT having crashes etc...
