I don't know if this is common knowledge or not, but if you have a gmail account, say [email protected], you have aliases built in by inserting a "." period. So if you gave your email as [email protected] or [email protected], those would be auto forwarded to your main inbox. Handy for times when you need a "new" email account but can't be bothered to generate a whole new one and need to remember what it was and what the password is.

Best bet is to get this, and when you need to use the Plus part of the membership, upgrade. I usually wait until I need to have something shipped (or a curbside pickup) before I upgrade so the upgrade charge is prorated.

I just read the T&C for the offer. In years past most offers have defined "New" member as one without a membership in the past X number of months (I think 6 months most commonly). No stated length of time since previous membership this time. Does that mean even for newly cancelled memberships, one could be eligible for this offer? Seems like it should work prior to the expiration as stated by OP as Jan 31, 2023.

I used an email that had a prior membership, but not in the past 12 months. Sam's Club noted it was associated with an expired membership, and then sent me an email code to verify, and then my order went through. hopefully I get the $50 credit.
