Better deal, hear me out. What if you can buy a used one and then sell it back for 750?. Extra sleep for free!

Have one and it has saved my wife and I. This is a very good deal but you can find them in excellent condition on FBM for like $700-750, so after tax we're talking about a $300-350 discount over new for something you'll only use a few months. That may be worth the savings for a lot of people.

These have gone way up in price in the past few years. I bought one new when they were around 950 and resold it for 75% of the price in a smaller city. They are totally worth it. After our first child and no sleep, we decided to try it and it definitely helped.

Yeah the RSV thing is a good point. I would totally jump on this over buying used if I were doing it again. When I bought mine used this baby was $1600, so saving a grand was a pretty tempting proposition.
RSV lives on surfaces for hours.. Not days or weeks.

Do you have a link to where it is not recommended? Previously it was the only bed to meet the AAP back sleeping recommendations.

For everyone else...this gave us about 2 hours extra sleep every night plus not having to get up and sooth the baby every time they wake. It doesn't work for all babies but if it does then totally worth it for your sanity alone.

Clearly no, why would it? There will be more and more supply and the same demand. In fact unless these items just break easily or there are new versions I wouldn't be surprised if the market for them collapsed in the coming years (both sale and rental). That's not even accounting for some competitor making a knockoff, same thing happened to the Roomba.

I also used one, 4 years ago, and it was a GREAT investment. We liked it so much (for our sleep!), we brought it to the UK and France for 2 months (it is heavy but fits in a super large bag, flight company didn't complain).
And we sold it for something like $100 less of what we paid for a year after.

Still worth buying new at this price. Used market can be risky, you may get one that makes grinding noises or has issues connecting to wifi. I got mine used, only because there was no good deal with them when I needed it. The wire was intermittently faulty and didn't find out until I got home, thanks god a replacement cord was the only issue.

Not sure if you understand how supply/demand dynamics work... If these keep going up in price, less people will buy them new, and go to secondary market, especially if the product is exactly the same (no new features). This will drive the used market up.

I should have just looked it up myself.

Look, if demand is 100 and supply is 1000, it doesn't matter if the new price is $1M and sell none. The secondary market will still be oversupplied.
