Bummer they don't have the iPhone mini on sale. The 12 mini was $299 last year so I was hoping maybe the 13 would drop this year. Not even the 12 mini this year. No 5G!

Pretty much the same policy as the others. "For Apple devices activated with new Straight Talk Service on the Straight Talk network on or after November 23, 2021, the device will be automatically unlocked sixty (60) days after activation in the absence of an indication of fraud."

So one month service will do it. Looks like minimum $35 for that.

Unlocked after 60 days of paid service per Verizon. Is that everyone's experience here or can you do the "pay for a month and then cancel and wait" thing like with TF/ST?

Unless something recently changed, I just paid for a month back in late Summer and it unlocked at 60 days. I did a ST plan but apparently there are cheaper TF plans available that it works on too.

I have a question in answering your question.

With Verizon owned mvnos, 1 month service is usually enough to unlock it after 60 days (automatic for iphones, request for androids).

But I recall Straight Talk had specific requirements that didn't fall in line with other TracFone brands after they launched their new unlock policy pursuant to their acquisition by Verizon. Does anyone recall if it's any different?

Tracfone was a pain to get it unlocked even after one year of service. After five phone calls finally got it unlocked. It shouldn't be that way. Never buy Tracfone again

Sorry I should have mentioned. I mean the TF with the new policy since their acquisition by Verizon.

same $149 price right now at total wireless (now total by verizon), wonder if it will go on sale there as well?

not sure if theri unlock policy is still auto after 60 days but the the last two i got from total just prior to the acquisition were a breeze...
