I'm in the minority when it comes to Ultraboost 22 and 21s. This is my experience. Ultraboost 1.0 -5.0 's and uncaged (discontinued) are the best looking and most comfortable. They do not last long with heavy exercise. MY LEAST favorite are the 19s followed by the 20s. The knit on the 19s show the most dirt and were the hardest to clean. Holes also started by the heels on multiple pairs from sliding them on my feet. the 20s have the widest toe box of all ultraboost models and hurt the bottom of my feet near toe box after the bottom was worn. No other ultraboost has hurt my feet before. Now to the 21s, I think the 21s are the most sturdy Ultraboost of them all. These kick ass for long walks or jogs. The bottoms last the longest out of any model. Easy to slip on and the perfect amount of room in the toe box. Yes they arent as comfortable as UB 1.0 - 5.0. but they crush the 19 and 20. Onto the 22s, I own multiple pairs of the 21s and 22s. The biggest difference I notice from just looking at them are all of the 22s are the "parley edition" which means they used plastic materials to make the shoe to cut down on waste. No mention of parley on any of my 21s in soles or boxes. But all of my 22s are parley edition. Triple black, core black, navy core etc all say parley edition. So if they cut down on materials that may explain why people think the toe box is snug compared to the 21s and they're harder to slip on n off . I've noticed the 22s are the only Ultraboost you have to actually break in to make them the classic comfy shoe you remember. Again, my theory is because 22's are all parley edition which explains for the peoples distaste in them. My favorite Ultraboost of all time are the

My 22's lasted 3 months until the top and front of the shoes started tearing out. They are a knit material. Hard to describe but it seems to be mostly cosmetic damage but theyre still tearing apart.

Yep. The whole point of the two different shoe lines (21/22/xxyear vs DNA) is the 22s are focused on running while DNAs are more of an everyday sneaker focused on fashion and comfort.

Your post shows you likely own over 50 pairs of these, yet still notice wear and dirt? I have few pairs of Adidas, but don't wear them and no ultraboost. Sounds like Adidas implemented planned obsolescence if they wear out that quick.

I've always used Nike for exercise and my last great pair were Shox. That pair of Shox is still good with three years of ~20 miles a week on a 6'2" 245lb frame. This was all outdoor running up and down hills, roads, rocks, etc. No wonder they don't make them anymore, they were too durable.

I am pretty proud of myself, a typical SD'er (shopping addict/hoarder), to have made it through about 10,000 ultraboost posts and still resisted.

I worked at DSG in shoe department for 4 years in college. I've tried on every shoe that's on their shelf including wrestling shoes and soccer cleats. Ultraboosts are easily the best casual shoe. Asics Brooks and Saucony are the best overall running brand. IMO

The Ultraboosts seem to be pretty popular. whenever I'm done with a pair I'll sell it on mercari for -$15-30 depending on condition. They sell like hot cakes even used. I take detailed pics of the condition and no one has ever complained. So to get this shoe for $60-$70 shipped and sell it down the road when I'm done with it then I'm in.

Everyone who wore shox in the early 2000s knows that they were a scam. Very uncomfortable shoes for 2022 standards. They never made me jump higher or play better in basketball. Didn't they squeak like the air monarchs do lol?

Sounds like you should keep passing on UB Deals. You won't like the 23s when Adidas incorporates the Yeezy look on them anyways.

I have a large yeezy collection and boost collection. ultra boost 19 is the best model despite the comments above. I would say the 3.0 is the second best model

the terrex free hiker is Adidas best kept secret. the goretex triple black free hiker might be the best Adidas shoe ever Made

Lol, no, Shox do not make you jump any higher than other shoes. They are however amazingly comfortable **considering the unparalleled support they provided.** Of course massive cushioning feels good, but it also lacks support. Especially for bigger people who like to put stress on their joints (which is why they were so popular for basketball and a cult hit for LD running).

They were the first truly supportive and responsive shoe for big people. If you are built like a football player there is nothing like them for running. Air cushioning is ok, but not durable, foam cushioning is ok for a treadmill, but not for outdoor running.

They weren't a scam and Adidas even tried to copy them. Unsurprisingly, they are making a comeback, too. Think of them as a shock absorber, not a spring (although I'm sure Nike capitalized on their visuals to claim whatever insignificant "springback" there was for marketing).

I think you have the shox confused with the new balance 993 and brooks beast.
