You raised a good point. That said, since the seller is Costco, replacement is an option.
I mean, if you are dead set on the panel lights, I'm not losing sleep either way. I'm just saying that if you choose to get a panel light and a bulb splitter and use both and two years later one panel dies at the same time as one bulb in the splitter dies, which is going to be less of a headache to rectify? The one where you have to deal with a Costco replacement? Or the one where you walk to a closet and get a spare LED bulb?

Again, I have no dog in a fight over how other people spend their money. I just happen to firmly believe that 99/100 times, the bulb splitter is the more logical route for most people. Are panel lights cool? Sure! Do they make the most sense? Not for longevity, no.

That being said, people have the right to spend their money however they choose. I just wanted to share the revelation I had involving the same products for the same purpose.

This kind of light often overheats and creates a fire hazzard?
Not this set, this has an aluminum frame as a heatsink, they do not run hot, have them in my toolshed, garage, attic, etc for 2 years, no issues.

Your use case works for you. It doesn't work for everybody.
I'll say it again, I won't lose sleep if people want to buy the light panel. I simply wanted to share another option to help the community. These products work great... unless one day they don't. My logic is sound regarding price, availability, and longevity for a bulb splitter. Saying that my use case works for me and not everyone does nothing to negate the logic I've laid out that is intended to give people more, and potentially better, options to choose from.

If the panels work for you, good on you

And if this light doesn't work for other people, they will figure out their situation. Stop preaching.
Preaching? For offering a different, potentially better, and more economical option for people to buy on a site dedicated exclusively to saving money and deals on products?

Heaven forbid that happen.

Offering choices isn't preaching. Lighten up and move on

I personally appreciated your input. I like your solution as I could use smart bulbs.

I can definitely appreciate your insight, it makes sense. I am not dead set on either way, I still only have one light bulb in the garage, but that may change. Basement light needs some work too.
