I saw this in store yesterday and just couldn't bite. I was having trouble finding info about it and my wife really wants the 5200. Past deals show online sales for 5200 at 299 price. I think the 2 tumblers look like really good quality, so if that is important to you, this e520 may be a slick deal. Just not sure.
Was really hoping to see their personal cup and adapter package with one of their blenders at this price again, like what we had last year. Tumbler are cool, but doesn't already have tumblers at home?

This is the cheapest entry into a model with program functions (smoothies, soup, frozen desserts). If you're the type of person who wants to do daily smoothies, for example, the there's a lot of value in pressing a button and walking away, instead of standing and pulsing and changing speeds manually each time. This is the model I recommend for most people.

This really is a good option. The old style containers (seen here) are easier to clean, as well, as the gasket in the new plastic lid can hold crud.
The preset options are incredibly handy for people who mostly use the machine for one of those purposes.
They're basically all using the same motors these days, so blending performance won't really be any different on more expensive models.
If you're on the fence, get this package. $300 for a Vitamix is entry level and this has premium preset features.
Vitamix bills the Explorian series as "an introduction to Vitamix". The presets do not make it a "premium model". The E320 from Costco I tried had a plastic frame. I couldn't handle the shrill noise and it walked on the counter from vibration. I am much happier with the full size 7500 G series which is also $300 when on sale. My choice for a smart model is the Ascent A3300 which was $350 few weeks back. No reason to buy the 5200 just to get the tall container. The tall wet 64 oz container is $94 right now on Amazon and has a near universal fit for non-self detect models. It is easy to resell the low 64 oz container on CL if you don't want both. BTW genuine Vitamix blades are laser-etched with the date. Always check because the warranty includes the entire drive assembly and seals from that date.

Wasn't that the E320 model? I think Costco replaced it with this E520 one instead

Costco usually has the 7500 version for $300 when on sale? Seems weird considering the one the have on their website appears to come with the two cups

sorry just seeing this. Apparently the 5200 is the best for just power, simplicity and quality which is what makes the Vitamix special. Im a newbie, I read stuff here: https://lifeisnoyoke.com/
