Why not enough thumbs up for this? Is this not the most bang for the buck for 2TB ssd?

Lol, 2tb ssd for $20.... Go for it, order away. I stick to my previous post, as it's still accurate.

The 2TB Samsung T7 Shield is currently the same price (Slickdeal post) so maybe that's why no love? 🤷

I think it's a good deal as I do prefer the Sandisk, mainly due to the form factor. The one thing the T7 and T7 Shield have going for them is they have a light. But not something I've ever needed on a drive like this.

Probably as we've seen this price for the last month so its now normal. I just returned one that I bought for 160, got one at this price and I'm waiting for it to drop further. Hoping that there is a pent up supply coming and further discounts. The same is happening in the laptop space.

Also, if folks are buying multiple times then there should be a lot of returns being resold in the first quarter of 2023. (edit: My guess)

I've had one of these drives for the last year or so, and it's been rock solid. I use it for storing raw photos and editing directly off of it in Lightroom on my Mac and it feels just as fast as internal storage. I picked up a second one through B&H's deal. Highly recommended.

In what way is this better than an internal SSD for storing and playing games? Or, would you say it is equivalent or comes close?

Why should I get this over this........

1. Is the Samsung an nvME?

2. what are the differences in form factor of the 2 referenced drives?

what is the power source? How does it draw its own power? or do you just have to stick it in the USB-C slot and it doesn't need its own power source? thanks

Yes you plug it in with a USB cable, which I believe is included. The cable provides both power and data to the drive.

Mine came with a USB C to USB C cable and it has an adapter for normal USB
