I owned the American Pro($999 adorama deal also), the Pro II, the American Original 50s and the new American Vintage II 57. Different guitars for sure, but the one that stood out the most was the pro II for the money. Neck was super nice, the rolled edges were a nice improvement over the Am Pro 1. The V-mod II were also a huge improvement from the original V-mods which were a bit lacking in my opinion. A solid buy at this price. If it was the miami blue/maple Id probably buy it again. Miss that guitar

Ditto. I played one of these in the store and it felt amazing. If this deal had popped up a month or two ago I would be all over it. But I just committed to a fair amount of money to have my 1977 Strat refretted and a new nut put on and just installed a Super Vee tremolo so, after putting money into what is apparently the LEAST valuable, LEAST loved American Strat, I feel that I need to lean into my poor decision and stick with it even though this deal is a better guitar.

I have the Am Pro II in Mystic Surf w/ rosewood fretboard. It is one fine guitar - this coming from a long-time LP player. I do love the rosewood fretboard, but the real magic is in the "super natural" finish of the neck, and the rolled edges, which should be the same for the maple.
