100%! I have both and the Ultra is much better.

I have an ultra but I've seen a bunch of people on reddit say they liked the AmProII more because they liked the more traditional neck and pickups. So ymmv! I personally haven't really experienced enough "traditional stratocaster" to feel like I care.. so I bought an ultra and really like the way it sounds and feels lol.

On reddit it sounds like people think the ultra feels more like an ESP LTD than a fender stratocaster. Again, the qualities (thin neck and more contours) are all things I adore about it!

I definitely think it's worth the extra money. Too bad the $1500 ultras don't have this color scheme. Unless you can find one in cobra blue - I know those were $1500-ish recently and I love cobra blue! (that's what I have, so I'm biased. XD)

Honorable mention: the chicago music exchange exclusives look hella cool.

This or the Ultra for a few hundred more? I'd take the Ultra all day long. Will get more than the extra paid into it if one decides to ever sell. Plus the Ultra has some great features and the neck feels terrific!

My fault , saw the Tele Ultra on sale for $1549. That said a bit ago they had the left handed Ultras on sale now the Tele, would not be surprised at all to see the Ultra Strat very soon. Fender has done this often around Black Friday through till after Christmas. What I really hope to see is some Japanese Gretsch's go on sale again right after Christmas. Have had fantastic deals in the past with a bunch of different models. Last year with guitar sales booming,not so much. Now that they're slumping, fingers crossed.

You can always try calling and see if they'll cut you a deal. Miami Guitars has pretty cool folk working there and most of the Ultras left are still from last year.

Excellent price and I'm kicking myself for buying one a few months ago off Sweetwater. I love them and all (and I got a different color) but this is a massive price decrease!

I prefer the AM PRO but, own 2 Ultra's. I CANNOT STAND Narrow Tall frets. Medium Jumbo or Jumbo for me…
