I sure am sorry you got cheated out of this deal while some of us in the "special groups" category ran patrols halfway around the world in 130 degree heat, sleeping where we could, while you slept in your own bed with AC and a clean comforter. I feel absolutely horrible for you since you don't qualify.

As others have mentioned, you can join the military. I believe that recently, some of the services have expended their maximum entrance age to 40-42 years old. If you have specialized skills (Ex. cyber, medical, engineering, culinary, etc...), in some services, you can get a direct commission or enlistment. Additionally, if you cannot join the services due to other reasons, you can always become a civilian gov't employee (not a contractor) of either DoD or DHS (USAJobs.gov [usajobs.gov]) Further, you could always volunteer and join the US Coast Guard Auxiliary (https://join.cgaux.org/eligibility )and get access to being able to shop at the CG Exchange. At this point, being able to shop at the military exchanges is open to millions - similar to trying to join a Credit Union with special group access - there's always another way in.

It mentions LTE in the description but this model does not contain the cellular functionality and those are $220 more.

You are correct - Thanks for pointing that out - I copied/pasted that from the CGEX website - I'll edit it out, as this is ONLY Wi-Fi capable.

Yes, I think this is the lowest price that this sized iPad has ever been. Way lower than the current advertised deals on Amazon/Best-Buy + Tax. Definitely a nice benefit for those with military service.

The silver says it has the A12 and the space gray says the A13. Price looks the same....

That is strange as I believe both models (MK2K3LL/A & MK2L3LL/A) are A13 chip models.
Based upon the earlier pointed out mistakes in the CGEX website description of the LTE, I'll bet this was another point that got past the website writers editor-in-chief.

I ordered from AAFES and really didn't want to waste DoD money in the return and buy when the supplier is probably the same. I was able to call AAFES and they price matched shopcgx. $20 back makes this smokin.

AAFES is very good about price matching (although you have to provide them all the info & they have to take time to review and get back to you). I got AAFES to price match a smoking hot sale price of a Microsoft Surface Studio Tablet a few months back.

Just called shopmyexchange and they do not price match with the coast guard. I'm thinking about returning the 2 ipads I previously purchased and getting 2 here instead.
