Worth it. Plex is great and it's worth supporting the company even if you don't use the extra features.

many features a great though: hardware transcode, skip intro, remote download for trips etc

In 2016 I paid $120 for Lifetime.

I've gotten my money's worth and then some. It's a very well supported platform that has kept up with my growing library, including stellar Dolby Vision and atmos support. I've got live television connected and I've got easy access to all my content no matter where my family travels.

Loved Plex before and got the lifetime pass. It has the best gui of any media mgt software out there.

However, recent upgrades especially shield TV, they have taken away ability to use external player like VLC. Playing 4k movies on shield 2017 is a struggle with the crap ExoPlayer that you are forced to use. It always transcodes and I got tired of trying to figure out the codecs. VLC on the other hand is a beast and plays anything you throw at it in outstanding quality...it's just isn't as clean as Plex.

Been debating this each of the past few years and finally pulled the trigger. Does anyone use this with a fire TV stick? Can you actually record live TV to your Plex server? Any good guides would be great. Now to find a good deal on storage

I've own Plex since 2012, and have yet to figure out how to make use of it since these streaming services came along.

It showed $339,000 pesos ($69 USD), but then billed my card $89 USD, and it still went through as an international transaction. So not sure everyone that thinks they are getting a deal with this loophole has actually looked at their credit card statement yet.

If you have a Plex Pass, you can add your tuner (HDHR Prime) to your "network". Then it essentially is part of the offerings from your Plex server. You fire up the Plex app on your phone, etc., select Live TV as your media type, then select the correct source and channel and it will start streaming.

That's it in a nutshell, but if you get stuck, gimme a shout and I'll walk you through it in greater detail.

I have cloud connected to Plex.
Just signed up Lifetime plex pass.

You can still see ads with plex pass.
I always troubleshoot the plex iOS app and Wd cloud integration.

I felt like I donated 90$ to use their UI which comes with ads.

I purchased this thinking I could download some shows to my phone and it doesn't seem to allow me to unless I'm on the local network. I could have simply purchased the app for my phone and done the same thing
