Dang, I literally bought these last night for $229 at Costco. Wondering if they will drop and I can price match, or if I have to return and buy on Amazon.

As far as vs the original AirPod Pros, the noise cancelling is definitely improved. I haven't had enough listening time yet on diverse songs to confirm sound quality, but initial impressions are that it's not a massive difference.

So long story short, buy this for the case improvements of FindMy and microphone / speaker as well as improved noise cancelling and battery life. Don't expect a massive improvement in the sound department.

Costco's liberal return policy is a win for me. It's essentially free Apple Care lite. This is especially important if you plan on keeping these for a long time with consistent use. The batteries are not replaceable. It's a disposable product.

The Sony WF-1000XM4 have severe battery drain issues. Many people have had this issue (check Google or Reddit) and new (1+ year old, just out of warranty) and Sony doesn't seem to care. Mine were dying within an hour on each side one month after warranty expired. I sent for repair as Sony instructed and repair facility said to junk them. They don't stand by their product. They have great ANC but otherwise sound very meh.

For sound quality - Samsung Buds 2 Pro use the Harman curve (check crinacle+ review) are some of the best in class, the AirPods Pro 2 are very good and a huge improvement from APP1, and the Technics EAH-AZ60 are very impressive sound-wise but just lack wireless charging.
