This is just a controller. Maybe the games you were playing weren't fun? Or maybe your family just doesn't like driving sims? I use this thing for the forza series, american truck simulator, the dirt series, the assetto series, etc... I find it to be very fun.
So what do we say people? I haven't seen this drop below that price in about 2 years. Should I pull the trigger or wait till black fri? Help me!!! Lol
It's definitely a starter wheel and at the bottom of force feedback wheels currently. Great thing about it that it's a workhorse and very much indestructible.

I had it for years until I tried some better wheels at which point I've moved on. That's not to say that you can't sim race with it, plenty people do but it's probably best suited to play arcade games like Forza, Gran Turismo, etc.

It's also a great way to get into the hobby and slowly upgrade over time starting with pedals.

I bought this and the manual stick for $235 AFTER tax at BH Photo a couple of weeks ago. Funny cause they updated pricing to BF deals and it's actually more.

Newegg is selling this on their ebay store for same price. Dell has for same price and Dell also has 20% cashback from a certain site. Same cashback site is offering $30 off instantly on eBay plus 5% cashback. Just ordered from Newegg on eBay. Feel free to PM me if you don't know the cashback site.

Starter wheel? I know the racing sim hobby can get expensive with some crazy custom stuff. The law of diminishing returns applies heavily though. In my opinion, this is all you will ever really need.

just a word of caution. as a grown-up, this looks so fun. so, i bought this on the cheap for last Chrismas, for 6 and 10 year old boys.

a failed gift. simply not fun enough. i don't play it either.

Frankly this is a great wheel to get your feet wet and see if you enjoy playing sims. Anything between this and direct drive wheels will be just fractional improvements. Direct drive wheels start around 600 and go up from there. Fanatec was a pioneer with "affordable" ones but now there are more options like Moza, Thrustmaster or Logitech.

My recommendation get this and see if you enjoy racing enough to triple/quadruple the cost of this wheel. Next upgrade would be load cell pedals and then direct drive base and wheel. Fanatc has some great choices there.
