Looks like a very capable setup at an amazing price. Just a heads up that is a dual-band mesh AP (https://www.netgear.com/business/...esh/sxk30/).

Looks like a great deal, OP, thanks. Hopefully it covers both floors in my house better than my current router.

Uses Netgear Insight, which after your free subscription runs out, forces you to pay for it monthly/yearly or have limited to NO access to the routers settings remotely and eliminates some features.

I have two of Netgears business class access points, and have no access to them at all because of the pay-to-play model they've implemented.

How much is the subscription and would I be able to get rid of my Verizon router or does it need to connect to that router as well?

This Insight crap is just for remote access/management of the settings, right? Or am I missing something? Because honestly if it's just remote access, I'm okay with that, due to having remote access to my network through other means...

Is there an issue with dual band mesh ap? I don't follow this very closely these days and have a few year old Orbi 5 setup, wondering if this would be better for things like game streaming to VR or handhelds.

As far as I'm aware, you can still access them perfectly well when connected to the network where these devices reside. Sure, it's not the same as opening the Insight app and doing (very basic) management from there, but you wouldn't completely lose access to them once Insight expires.

Two things stood out when looking at the specs. The satellite max speed is 300mbps. Is that true? And the other is that this has a max connectivity of 40 devices. If that's correct, that would not work for me. Between smart TV's, phones, tablets, security cameras, smart outlets and bulbs and what not, I'm pretty sure my household has more than 40 devices. If it was 40 per unit, that would make it 80. That would probably work. But I can't tell from the description.

I currently have Google Wifi with four pucks. Google system, the puck can be a router or satellite. My understanding, Netgear is one router and one satellite where I can't buy two sets to have a total of four points. I would have only two satellites and an extra router that wouldn't be used?

1gbps WAN port.
Fyi- If you have latest 2.5gbps capable modem this will not compliment it.

Correct, the router cannot be configured as a satellite. However you can buy additional satellites to extend the system up to that model's limit, usually 3 or 4. So OPs bundle comes with one router and one sat. You can then add up to three additional sats.

Can I use the router on this for the vlans and stuff and use my existing RBR750 and it's satellites instead?

Yes, remote access and app access seem to be nill. You can access them locally from the web browser but functions are removed if you don't use insight. Which features these would be would differ between products so you would have to look that up.

I edited the original message to make that more clear, sorry for any confusion.

You'd have to check with tech support but I believe satellites are not interchangeable between models.

Do orbi satellites play nice with other Orbi models? I have the RBS50 model satellites and I'm hoping to upgrade my system for my new home and I'm looking for something compatible with these.
