Based on the retail price ($99/$249), this is a great deal, but for basic functionality and max weight (42lb), the tru grit 40 lb version might be a good option also ($64/$159).

I have the jaxjox interactive studio and I love it. My only issue is I've had a dumbell go out on me twice through normal use. The first time they replaced it immediately. But now I have to wait for my replacement and I don't know when I'm going to get it.

The weights are electronically adjustable. You tap the screen or a button on the weight and it adjusts for you. This is amazing for saving time for a work out. However twice I've had a dumbbell stop working. When I press the button to change the weight the weight just makes a noise and stays on the same weight.
Besides price difference and couple more pounds, are both this deal and Tru grit good options? Asking because although unrelated, I've got Bowflex adjustable dumbbells which I like but feel due to the weight distribution in plate, it's not as effective as using traditional dumbbells. Not sure if the design of these kettlebells poses a similar suboptimal feel as compared to other adjustable kettlebells or the traditional ones.

Oh I appreciate that.
I don't like smart devices for something that simply gets picked up and put down.

If you want adjustable, I would suggest Bowflex kettlebell over this one. $120 right now but may go cheaper this week. Many folks really only need one or two kettlebell weights though which could be done for the $100 as well. The adjustable is good though if you are sharing between a few users

Ok thats what it was looking like. I love technology and automation but am weary of depending on the extra moving parts just to change weight.

What do you mean by basic functionality? You suggesting the Tru grit option is better design?

What does "go out" mean exactly?
