This vs Google Nest Thermostat (https://www.costco.com/google-nes...74339.html) for $179.99. Does anyone have any experience with both?

The Nest is a 7-yr old model. Guess I'm buying the Ecobee 5.

Really confusing. This lists that it has the features of the ecobee premium but the pictures show the white back of the ecobee enhanced. Maybe a Costco exclusive model that sits between the two?

I've had Nest thermostats since they originally came out and have replaced one of my three Nests with an Ecobee and liked it much better. I mostly use Apple products and really like the HomeKit integration. I also like that the Ecobee sensors detect occupancy where the nest sensors only detect temperature. If I was 100% sure this was the premium model I would be in for two but the listing is confusing and tough to tell if it is the Premium or Enhanced model or something in between specific for Costco.

Also worth noting that in many states you can also get a rebate from your utility provider ($100 each in MA)

From my chat with Costco today (copy/paste):
"Unfortunately, my support team was not able to find the information either. I do sincerely apologize. However, what I can do is send this information over to our resolutions team so they can reach out to the manufacturer and they will reach out to you within 1-3 business days once they receive an update. Would that be okay?
Otherwise, I would just advise if the item is not what you are expecting, you can return it."

Will update when I get more info

If slickdealers find out before me please post the info Please

I ordered a Ecobee Premium for $219, supposed to be delivered today. Only one sensor. I think that's a better investment than this one if you don't care about the second sensor but YMMV.

I'm pretty sure ecobee 5 is prior gen. The photos are accurate if it is indeed ecobee 5 like it says. Ecobee 6 is the new gen which has enhanced and premium.
Honestly I'd pass at this price for gen 5

You are right! This is last generation. It's almost been completely wiped from their website. Almost like they want people to forget it existed.

The premium with one sensor at $219 is a better deal.

Which premium are you talking about? They had Ecobee3 Lite last month.

Seems like it's $219 most everywhere else as well.

The ecobee premium has an air quality monitor and the UI is slightly different when it comes to changing temps and whatnot.

It looks exactly like the enhanced version sold at bestbuy (but no sensors)

Speaking of sensors.

"Both new models work with Ecobee's second-gen Smart Sensors, and are compatible with the first-gen versions, too."

More info about sensors, 1st gen vs 2nd gen:

"What Is the Difference Between Ecobee Smart Sensor and Room Sensor? The Ecobee SmartSensor is the second-generation sensor replacing the Ecobee Room Sensor. The most notable differences of the SmartSensor from the Room Sensor are its more elegant redesigned appearance, extended battery life, wider viewing angle, and the range it can be placed from the Ecobee thermostat."
