Suryasis, can you please respond? I'm thinking of backing off from an internal SSD and getting this as it's a pain to yank the lid of a Lenovo Legion 5.
Thanks.

The benefit of this is not needing to open your PC, or if you don't have an nvme gen 4 slot open (or have none at all) and the fact it's portable.
An internal one would work better if you don't need the portability and if you have an open nvme slot.

Frankly, Android phones with a Google account connected will back everything up for you automatically (photos, apps, all your data) if you enabled it, so I don't understand why you are worrying about this. I assume iPhones have something similar. If you didn't enable or allow Google or Apple to automatically back everything up / upload it to the cloud - then you really are just creating giant headaches for yourself.

SanDisk seems like one of those brands that is always very heavily discounted, whether it's an SSD or a memory card, to the point I can't really trust whatever their MSRP might be.
I think a big reason is to make it feel like you're getting a great deal on it, when you might otherwise not have bought if it was $199 on sale for $149
