The opposite lol. There are people in every AMD laptop thread saying that Intel>better.

Intel has Thunderbolt which matters to some use cases and not for many others.

Intel is trying to regain lost ground but they had major issues going to 10nm. They ruled the market because AMD bet on their original Bulldozer architecture which screwed them till the last few years. Intel similarly screwed itself on its overambitious 10nm process.

Right now, AMD processors use significantly less power than Intel (and therefore put out less heat, which is much better for something thermally limited like a laptop) and they're using TSMC's 5nm process, which is basically the only cutting edge one on the market (Samsung failed and Intel's is still rocky).

There are some things that unfortunately work better on Intel, due to them having the lead and the buy-in from software companies for so long. Most of that has to do with apps that use the iGPU though.

Just got a price match on my order from Sept that didn't deliver until Mid-November, thanks! Saved me 35 bucks.

Solid machine so far.

I just received this machine and I love it. For this price, it checks every box. Great deal if you're in the market for one.

Do Lenovo laptops still have hinge issues on IdeaPads, not sure about pro models?. Looking for one that will at last at least 3-4 years. Dell Inspiron 5500 crapped out under 2 years.

For the ones who got this, how's the 300 nits in a glossy screen, is it too dim in a well lit environment?

I do worry the reflections on that glossy screen could make its content hard to see at times

For reference, MacBook Air M1 is 300 nits glossy display and still the whole world uses it with glee in coffee shops. It will not be an issue under most circumstances. Bringing up brightness or adjusting angle will help with any reflective issues you may have.

I'm seeing $589 for military after adding a promo code. Amex has a $100 cash back offer on $500 too.

Is this ok for some light gaming. Like indie, phasmophobia? Don't need one for AAA games.

Thinking to buy it or wait until BF to grab with even more discount? I need it just for browsing and excel work and maybe for YouTube watching.

Should be more than enough for what you need it for.
