Just nevermind.
Intel has Thunderbolt which matters to some use cases and not for many others.
Intel is trying to regain lost ground but they had major issues going to 10nm. They ruled the market because AMD bet on their original Bulldozer architecture which screwed them till the last few years. Intel similarly screwed itself on its overambitious 10nm process.
Right now, AMD processors use significantly less power than Intel (and therefore put out less heat, which is much better for something thermally limited like a laptop) and they're using TSMC's 5nm process, which is basically the only cutting edge one on the market (Samsung failed and Intel's is still rocky).
There are some things that unfortunately work better on Intel, due to them having the lead and the buy-in from software companies for so long. Most of that has to do with apps that use the iGPU though.

Edit: It looks like Walmart has this for $655 with delivery by November 25th and what is likely easier returns then buying through Lenovo (hopefully).
Edit 2: This looks to have USBC 3.2 Gen 1 vs Gen 2 slots. What does that limit?

- Soldered RAM (going to assume this may never need to be upgraded, hmmm)
- SSD instead of NVMe (this is my major holdback)
I like my laptops at ~14", this is backlit, and I'm definitely all go for AMD. Hmmm...
Most of my laptops last from 5-8 years. The one she has now is 7 years old. I usually upgrade RAM or the storage if anything, but nowadays I don't think it's necessary as often anymore.
It's really the non-NVMe that has be pondering.
I compared to a review from last year model on notebookcheck https://www.notebookche
They show that under sunlight it will definitely be bad, but not unusable, still it would be a nuisance, pretty dim. Macbook wins there.

- Went to lenovo parts site here [lenovo.com] and entered the part# 82SJ0005US to look for "parts" - try this link [lenovo.com]
- I then grabbed the part# for the SSD, here 5SS0Z46565. I then searched that, and found this at newegg [newegg.com].
So it shows up as NVMe, and even pictures show it.
I'm going to assume and hope that it's NVMe.
Now you got me on battery life. Definitely can't compare to Intel as that's comparing apples to oranges with regards to CPU TDP.
