Good price, and was about to purchase until I came across this: https://www.neowin.net/news/bewar...-flushing/

These companies aren't even handling flush commands properly, doesn't inspire much confidence...

for one, this was done on a MAC computer , so you MAC user's need to know how to turn this feature off (not sure if you can)
on PC ( Windows ), This is turned off by default and is of no concern what so ever on everyday use, unless you have a use case specific to turn it ON, this will probably not effect any computer with windows installed.

Does that have chips on both sides? This affects whether it can be installed in quite a few laptops with small clearances for their nvme slots. I know the P31/P41 are single-sided so they're a safe buy for that purpose.

Its single sided, i installed it in my g15 yesterday along with a heatsink/bracket that i got off of ebay. Final thickness was same as the short 2240(i assume) sk hynix dell installed on the opposite side

Acer and ASUS laptops come with a couple riser/standoff screws just for that reason.
Acer sends 2 in a little zip lock bag with a label with their part number. No where does it state what those screws are for. But that's what it's for. Smilie
I'm sure other manufactures include them also, but Acer and ASUS are the two I have had to deal with lately and can confirm it.
Link for example:

Edit: A co worker told me HP sends them also, but it's already mounted on the motherboard. You'll have to remove the screw when you install your m.2 device.

This is one of the coolest running most reliable pcie3 drives you can get. Have them in multiple laptops and 4x in RAID in a workstation. Unless pcie4 is a hard requirement these are unbeatable

Isn't $160 Kinda high for Gen3 NVME's considering the Samsung 780 Pro Gen4 is $175?

i have a sams evo 512 for my os drive. Had power outage multiple times. Didn't lose any data or didn't notice any loss. P31 is in my external enclosure. It's not connected full time. I'll skip p31 and will buy whatever drives they tested just in case. Also want pci4.

Maybe p31 has a better energy efficiency. So if you want to use this on your laptop, it will be better choices.
