Good price, and was about to purchase until I came across this: https://www.neowin.net/news/bewar...-flushing/

These companies aren't even handling flush commands properly, doesn't inspire much confidence...

for one, this was done on a MAC computer , so you MAC user's need to know how to turn this feature off (not sure if you can)
on PC ( Windows ), This is turned off by default and is of no concern what so ever on everyday use, unless you have a use case specific to turn it ON, this will probably not effect any computer with windows installed.

Hu, thank you for this link. This seems indeed odd. Maybe a firmware update can help but never know if they haven't addressed / acknowledged it.

Hylinx especially run on a very low power budget which makes them quite desirable for laptops. Hopefully that feature isn't part of the issue here.

Still overpriced! Hynix periodically lowers this SSD to this price and then raises it. Why don't they price it more fairly? This should be normal price, not discounted price. Mad

You're right about the tester running this on Mac, and it seems Mac does some obfuscation with the flush commands so drives need to support their flush weirdness. Can you share where you saw this behavior is turned off (meaning flush behaves normally) on Windows? The specs on this SSD is great, I was really hoping to get it.

That's disturbing. Have both drives that failed.

I see Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron are still happily cheating people.

Still waiting to replace my 1TB NVMe SSD I bought four years ago for $69. Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron stop colluding to milk the consumer at 1-2TB kkthx. We are ready to be cheated at 8-128TB.

Digitimes: Samsung new NAND flash capacity coming online in 2H21 may worsen price falls.

Everyone has been brainwashed to eat these high prices because xyz reasons. It's easier and cheaper to print ssd NAND memory than make a hard drive yet you don't see those staying stationary at 1-2TB for the past 4 years.

This or the Samsung 970 Evo Plus?
Both the same price
In terms of quality/reliability, both should be very, very similar. Personally, I like the power efficiency of this drive, especially in laptops that have undersized batteries.

I have this running in my current macbook pro 15", took it no issues of course make sure you update your mac firmware with the original OEM smaller drive first so that it can support this.

Good enough for gaming and storage from what everyones saying. Its the inland brand.
Only go dramless if you are ok trading off performance for a price point. Otherwise it makes no sense.
