Credit reports are a scam unless you are dirt poor. They didn't exist before the 80s. You take a small point hit for closing a credit card, and 6 months later you'll have a 150+ increase for no reason. It's stupid.

People's credit scores go down when they pay off debt. It's a stupid system you shouldn't give a shit about unless you're broke and under 300.

I'm also seeing $60 instead of a $200 reward since I'm a secondary member of someone else's household. The primary owner already has the Prime visa signature card.

I read through the comments and they seem inconsistent. I'm assuming there isn't a way to get the $200 reward without leaving and starting my own Prime account, but just wanted to confirm if anyone in this situation was able to trigger the $200 reward screen.
Strangely the primary owner who already has a card is seeing the $200 reward bonus on that page...

you just need a prime account for the offer. The application does not even have to be in your name BUT NOTE: The $200 gift card will get applied to the prime account you are applying from.

Nice. I have the Amazon card and it is pretty good for what it is. 5% straight off on Amazon. Comes in chase app combined with other chase credit card for easy management.

Came in handy many times on international trip for buying stuff with no foreign transaction.

Just has my spouse sign up too and got 200 amazon GC immediately.

applied for the Amazon store card.. was approved/prequalified, and then when I click the button to submit it says I have to call them for additional qualification *rolls eyes*

I applied as a secondary household Prime member, the primary member already has the Prime Visa. Approved and the $200 GC was added to my account instantly. Thanks OP and SD fam for confirming this would work as the secondary member.

You need the prime account or family prime account. Grandfather share prime benefit account will not work. You can use the main account to sign up. You just need to edit the application to your detail. You can use the check pre-qualified to lock in your detail.

Last time I applied for it, it is sent to the email that I used for the application, not to the main account holder. I think if there's no Amazon account associated with the email, it will send you the gift code instead. I got the gift code when I applied for the Amazon Business Amex.
