Credit reports are a scam unless you are dirt poor. They didn't exist before the 80s. You take a small point hit for closing a credit card, and 6 months later you'll have a 150+ increase for no reason. It's stupid.

People's credit scores go down when they pay off debt. It's a stupid system you shouldn't give a shit about unless you're broke and under 300.

I've had the store card for years now. never had an issue with synchrony, but I pay on time and never have to deal with them. Nice to have the 5% back or 6 mo no interest option when shopping on Amazon

We also have the Chase card, but I've not used it for years. Anyone have any insight on what I'm missing out on by preferring the store card?

FYI, they will lock your balance for only for regular or prime shipped orders. You won't be able to apply it to say subscribe & save or anything else...

Doesn't apply to the chase amazon card. Although you can be denied for other reasons and it'll count towards your 5/24 for other Chase cards that have the 5/24 rule.

If you apply, just use the amazon credit and dont use the card. close it a month later. its a pain in the ass to talk to anyone who works for this card and not worth the hasslte of actually using the card. its super easy to close
