If you have already applied a code, if you try it again, it will say "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase." because the code has already been applied.
If you are on the Amazon mobile app, there is no way to tell if you have already applied the code or if you did the deal wrong, so I would suggest checking out on a desktop mode browser and not the app.
