Seems like a good price, but is is any better than most laptops available at this pricepoint, such as this MSI Katana GF66 [microcenter.com] or this HP Victus [microcenter.com]? Trying to gauge how "Slick" is this deal.

You can't really compare them to begin with, since both of them are 15.6" and this is 17"..

Even if you put that aside, Nitro 5 is much better as far as screen and GPU is concerned. It has a 300-nits close to 100% sRGB screen whereas the ones you mentioned have 250-nits 45% NTSC. The GPU on the Nitro 5 is also full wattage, i.e., 95W, whereas on both, the GP66 and Victus, it's lower than that.

Is this an actual IPS or "IPS Level/Like" screen?

I am REALLY leaning toward getting this.. checks most boxes for me.

I know this could run rdr2 and witcher 3 at high level but can this run god of war at high settings?>

a 3050ti will struggle with god of war high settings. it'd run more on like low/medium at 60fps

damnit. 50 usb-a ports, and one very underwhelming ucb-c. so pointless.

i really need a 17" screen and thunderbolt or some other good way to run dual external monitors. most of my uses are remote work, with very minimal gaming. i mean.. fallout 4, but everything turned wayyyy down.

was even thinking this one would do it with displayport 1.2.

Can't you get a usbc adapter for the second monitor?

My laptop running windows 8.0 laptop can run dual displays, one on VGA and one through usbc with an HDMI 7 in 1 port adapter.

honestly, i dont know. so many people have told me that the usb-c either has to be thunderbolt spec'd or display port 1.2/1.4 spec'd. this acer is neither. it seems like every time i bring this up, i get a different answer.

GDDR6 has been in video cards for ages... refers to video RAM not system RAM
