This model is known for being something of a bait-and-switch. There's at least two different versions, from different countries with different internals and even connector layouts. So I wouldn't put too much faith in how it was reviewed initially.

Any reason to not get this over a Corsair RMX Series (2021), RM750x, 750 Watt gold for 100$? Looking at upgrading to a 5700x and a 6700xt on my current machine. I assume this is the better deal and would be a little overkill but maybe room to upgrade gpu again later.

I'm in the same, but for 5800x/6800x. Might wait until cyber Monday for some deals in the 60-80 range.

I agree thats the case. Its not the case with this Thermaltake GF1 but there are some brands (EVGA does this) where it happens. But again, it doesn't happen like what is described in the forum post linked. That person is comparing two totally different PSUs and most likely got return scammed.

Original Review show Hold-up Cap(s) 2x Nippon Chemi-Con (400V, 470uF each or 940uF combined) (https://images10.newegg.com/BizIn...121719.jpg)

NEW!! Check Newegg picture Hold-up Cap(s) 2x Nichicon (400V, 390 0uF each or 780uF combined) (https://c1.neweggimages.com/Produ...03-V09.jpg)

Not sure how much it will change the character of the power supply but it is a bait and switch.

Both of these companies products are rated as 'top tier' capacitors. They probably simply sourced other similar quality parts. Seems legit.
