God damn I want to buy these but don't need MORE SHOES.
I used to wear these in high school and college over 20 years ago and they were $40 back then. But you could only find them in a few stores in center city Philly before online shopping.
$100 original price claim is laughable. Bought a pair Oct 2018 via SD for $18. Surely inflation can't account for this price difference.
I purchased back then out of nostalgia and I was disappointed. I immediately just made them my yard work shoes. The soles are crazy hard, it feels like I'm walking on wooden sandals. I don't know if it's quality drop since 20 years ago or if age just made me oblivious to uncomfortable shoes back then. Maybe a combination. They are still as light weight as I remember, but very very hard on the bottom of my feet. They feel like $18 shoes.

Yep, I also got in on that deal so $45 seems like too much for these shoes.
I do still wear mine though when out running errands.
They're not the most comfortable shoes but they get the job done.
