I got the Costco version of this and hated it and returned it. Constantly pressing the power button by accident and it didn't shave close. Costco now carries a newer model which I'm totally happy with.

I got their 6540 model from Costco for $70 down from $90 a few months ago.
It has been OK not great
I have had different models of Norelco and Remington over the years
Remington products cut much better but different pieces failed - they kept giving me replacement razors, restarting the warranty each time, and so I ended up with 4 razors after buying one, and each one lasted close to a year before having a problem
BY contrast, the Norelco;s have lasted years, but they get slower and slower - batteries fatigue out and the cutters are expensive.
I have tried them at different price points and I cannot say that the more expensive ones are any better. They just have more gimmicky features. Given that, $35 is an excellent price for getting this model since it will include a fresh set of cutters - which cost just as much

Bought mine from cvs and it's not worth the money. Does not give a close enough shave.

How is this compared to the 7100 from a couple of weeks ago, that was on sale for $65?

The new Costco one that I'm happy with is the Norelco 6600. It's currently on sale for $70 which is what I got it for a couple months back. (The one that I hated was the 6500) This 6600 is different design and different blades.
I second you that my Costco 5000 series does not do me any good. I have to ramp through the same stubborn hair several times to shave it. My old 3000 series does better than 5000.
At present, 6600 is on sale at Costco. Very tempting.
I am also looking into Braun 9 series that is also on sale, but much expensive...

You think the Norelco 9600 at Costco also on sale is just as good to replace my last generation Norelco that used the HQ9 double blades? I bought a Norelco 5000series from Costco exactly 2 years ago and it's just ok. Took longer than my old one with the HQ9 blades.

I have this leaves a close shave but it takes like 3-5 min to do so, also your hair has to be very short to start with or it won't work. The trimmer attachment is basically useless btw. I bought an andis trimmer from Amazon for like 70$ or so and it's a million times better. You'll get a close shave within 30 seconds

Btw, suggest some good electric razors from your own experience, I am in the market for one as my old ( don't remember model) was lost during travel
My favorite by a long shot are Panasonic. Decently close shave and even with shaving my head for a couple years I don't need to replace anything on it.

4/5 on the site?
All of the positive reviews are from Philips' website.

I'm pretty sure this is crap based on the reviews. I've had a much older electric razer from philips for a long time. Works well mostly except for the trimmer attachment. The replacement blades are really expensive.

They have other models that are all the same I think the only difference is the colors. Barbers use this for a close shave for fades

Alternative use: I have not able to find an electric Razor that can shave close so I mainly use Norelcos to do the heavy cutting initial pass then finish off with a manual razor in the second pass. I find this method saves time and money since I don't have to buy the razor blades often.
I shave every other day and a razor last three months+ and Nerelco every 3-4 few years.

I'm actually putting out a YouTube video on razors soon that will be how to get the quickest closet shave...spoiler you need to use an electric with shaving cream in the shower. Life-changing.

Anyone know if this would work well for the head? That bald head life
Been shaving my head and face daily with norelco shavers for 15+ years. These work great in the shower. If you've never had one, your skin needs to adapt to it for about a month. Most people try it for a few days and don't like it and stop. For this price I just get a new one every year instead of buying new blades. Thanks OP in for 1

Trash compared to even a cheaper Braun.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but if you've been using a rotary head, and change to foil, or vice versa, it takes some time, like weeks or months before the razor performs true; something about your facial hair aligning to the new cut angles. This does make it a problem to give a new razor on sale a chance, so much so, I just stick with Braun foils.
