I got the Costco version of this and hated it and returned it. Constantly pressing the power button by accident and it didn't shave close. Costco now carries a newer model which I'm totally happy with.

I got their 6540 model from Costco for $70 down from $90 a few months ago.
It has been OK not great
I have had different models of Norelco and Remington over the years
Remington products cut much better but different pieces failed - they kept giving me replacement razors, restarting the warranty each time, and so I ended up with 4 razors after buying one, and each one lasted close to a year before having a problem
BY contrast, the Norelco;s have lasted years, but they get slower and slower - batteries fatigue out and the cutters are expensive.
I have tried them at different price points and I cannot say that the more expensive ones are any better. They just have more gimmicky features. Given that, $35 is an excellent price for getting this model since it will include a fresh set of cutters - which cost just as much

Bought mine from cvs and it's not worth the money. Does not give a close enough shave.

I've been using it for a year now. I am definitely satisfied with the purchase and would buy again. Yes, it takes a little longer to get a close shave (not 5 mins though), but, for the price, this does the job to my expectations. The battery lasts for a long time between charges. You can simply open it and rinse it off after use and it's ready to go. I thought the sideburn trimmer was a waste and didn't use it for most of the year that I've had this razor, however, I used it recently and now think differently. It does a good job. The only negative is having to pop off the head to put the trimmer on. Like I already said, for $35, I would buy this one again.

It's a really good price . I'm very tempted have straight hair that grows out flat against the skin. I found a foil shaves like braun not to work as well as rotary. But the norelco I can only use on my face. Without lectric shave lotion or some lube it will chew up my neck. Visible and sore razor burn. If i manscape the anywhere stretch scar it will actually cut bloody. Not deep and flowing but I won't be attempting to condition my skin by repeating it. I dunno maybe I should just get 20 5 blade dorcos, an single blade handle, and 100 blades for the same price.

As far as electric razors go Norelco's rotary blade has been largely unchanged for 20+ years. It's just the bells and whistles with the same shave. Around $30 is a sweet spot.

Outside of that there are like what 4 major choices of shaver type and every person is different in which they like. (So take others opinions with a grain of salt until you try each yourself. More than likely you know someone who may.let you try theirs)

1) Rotary electric
2) Foil electric
3) Traditional razor
4) Traditional enhanced (vibrating, etc)

Personally I prefer convenince of electric and find rotary is closer than all of them.

You can't manacape with a rotary, facial hair only. Rotary actually pulls the hair up a bit before cutting. On soft skin it will pull a little skin into the cutting blade as well. Bad idea. Start waxing your junk, painful but you'll be hydrodynamic kinda smooth like a go ram dolfin!

Best shaver I have ever owned is the Norelco Spectra 8894XL James Bond Edition. I recently bought a panasonic Arc 5 but the Norelco is still running from 2003 and still gives a better shave.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but if you've been using a rotary head, and change to foil, or vice versa, it takes some time, like weeks or months before the razor performs true; something about your facial hair aligning to the new cut angles. This does make it a problem to give a new razor on sale a chance, so much so, I just stick with Braun foils.
Who likes foil razers.

Add in a 35 cent Kool Aid packet to get free shipping. Would cost me more in gas to drive to Target, plus love me some Kool Aid!
