These are good starter e-bikes. Hyper has good customer support. The bikes aren't very powerful, but as Class 1 e-bikes, are generally allowed to go anywhere that a regular bicycle is allowed.
Recommend upgrading the brake pads to KoolStop brand for a huge improvement in stopping power for minimal cost/effort.
Check out the Hyper e-bikes Owners Facebook group for more info.
We have the blue one from last Black Friday. Very heavy, poor range compared to other e-bikes, questionable battery cell quality, too thin of tires for weight, low weight capacity, poor quality brakes that need lots of adjustment. Pedal assist only.
Despite this, having gears is really nice and there is nothing that comes close in price. Wouldnt recommend it if you're over 175lb though. Lighter the better.
bought one for the wife last year and she loved it after her initial crash...good for people who want to ride once in a while...if you are a dedicated rider of course this wouldn't be for you

These are garbage. I owned one and returned it. The yellow and black one. Garbage quality the same as $80 walmart bike. Those buttons and controllers are the same quality with $80 ebikes in China. Tbh I don't understand why does these ebikes in America have such low quality with such high price.
I need to know the inseam height, last ebike I bought was too tall for half the family. Can't find any specs on Walmart or the hyper website.
These are pretty short….im 5'10 and its a little short for me. Ideal for someone 5'0-5'8….i had to get a stem riser or i would be hunching over too much. I wouldn't buy this if you were to do any real off roading unless u were this short

Thanks for the tip about the brake pads. I currently own a foldable ebike that is too difficult to peddle when the battery dies. Are you able to peddle this bike when not using power without too much of a struggle. Any tips are appreciated because I just pulled the trigger and purchased it as a Thanksgiving day birthday gift.

Check out that Facebook group for lots of tips. It's heavy, so a little difficult with a dead battery. But better than one-speed e-bikes. Most important factor is to check your tire pressure frequently. Makes a huge difference in how hard it is to pedal.

Care to provide a link to one of those $80 e-bikes?
Absolute garbage quality. I bought one last black friday and the battery component burnt out within a few days in what looked like a small fire as there were black burn marks by the electrical wire. I got a replacement from Walmart and the threading on the pedal stripped within a week. Would definitely not recommend it.

I'm out! Not worth burning the house down to save a few bucks.

FB group seems to be full of spam right now; any advice on which size /style pads to get for my 700C HYPER E-RIDE CITY ELECTRIC BIKE BLUE? I paid $398 for it and I've had it for a few years and like it, but most of the riders on the bike path near my house use throttle assist these days and I'm jealous.
