You can use the trick that some of us (including me) had used:
* Buy a BYOD Fi SIM at Best Buy for $10. Activate it with a compatible BYOD phone to become a Fi member. You can chose to get a new number, no need to port in for the BYOD SIM. Use a referral code here if you have one.
* Wait at least 24 hrs after activating the BYOD SIM, preferably 48 hrs, for Fi to recognize you as an existing Fi member before placing your order for the 30-day S22 phone.
* When the S22 arrives, activate with its installed SIM. It'll say that the number is currently on another phone (the BYOD phone), do you want to transfer service? Reply YES and it'll activate the S22 with a transfer from the BYOD phone and starts the 30-day countdown.
The Gotcha: Some people ordered the S22 too soon after activating the BYOD SIM and Fi didn't recognize the activation of the S22 as that by an existing Fi member. They're still trying to get that sorted out after more than a week.
* 11/23 - Purchased Fi SIM @ BB for $7
* 11/24 - Activated Fi SIM on Random Android Device. Was assigned a new number (after I picked area code). Used a referral code for hopefully 1 free month? Also I guess that the BB SIM is supposed to be $10 and I got a Fi plan credit of $10 (technically making the Fi SIM "free")
* 11/25 - Purchased S22 256GB for $350. Verbiage on promo page seems to show that I am a "current" customer and will need 30 *consecutive days*.
* 11/28 - Received S22 and activated with Fi SIM that came with S22 (already inside). Waiting for FI Account page to reflect activation status. Old phone SIM no longer works.
* 11/29 - Fi Account Credits page now shows phone as activated on 11/28, and I need to "Stay active on Fi for 30 more days"
* 12/12 - FI Savings In Progress - *Stay active on Fi for 17 more days". My phone has been off for a week
* 12/28 - Fi Savings In Progress - *Stay active on Fi for 1 more day". I have since then formatted my phone and blended the SIM.
* 12/29 - Fi Savings for S22 Promo now moved from In Progress tab to Earned tab! All 4 tasks have blue checkmarks.

2. If we wait at least 48 hours we should be good to go?
3. Any other thing to take into consideration?
4. Also can we do this more than once if we want more than one S22?
2. I know people who waited several days had no problem.
3. No.
4. I ordered two, but I used two accounts. One account created using the Best Buy SIM. One account had Fi service from May to Sept but no current active Fi service, so I had to port in a number (I used my GV number).
