Yes, i did something similar... the key is to activate the new device on the new line. as long as you do that, you'll be fine
Thanks for the reply. what about placing order first and adding new line after the device is received? Just try to avoid paying an extra service month to qualify the promotion.

I'm not sure about that. The attached terms say to qualify for the deal as an existing member with active service, you have to activate the new phone on the existing line . At activation, service is transferred from the current phone to the new phone (I did that with a line from a BYOD Fi SIM). If your current phone hasn't met the requirements yet, you're going to screw yourself out of its promotion(s).
Thanks for the information. There should be two lines after i add an new line today. I wonder if i will get an option to choose which lines to transfer from when i ativate the new phone.

Service will be transferred from the line that ordered the 30-day S22.

If you place the order first before adding a new line, the order will be tied to the current line and service will be transferred from the current line.

Word is that the new S23s will come with a substantial price bump, making these deals look even better.

can someone explain how to use the 30 days offer as an existing customer? Just buy a SIM from BestBuy, active as a new FI member and geta new phone number, then order a S22 as an existing customer in your Fi account? Then the phone is good to use any other SIM/number I currently have. Just don't use the google Fi SIM/number and keep Fi service for 30 days?
Thanks!

Can I add a new line on my existing account first and then order this phone on that line to get the deal with 30 days? my existing line is currently linked to my ongoing offer when I got a zflip4
I think the following might work but I'm not any kind of authority on this:

1. Open new line with new gmail.
2. Pause service & order S22 as existing user (maybe the reverse might work better; order S22 then pause service immediately)
3. Activate S22 when received & resume service

As per my phone call with Fi support a new bill is generated 5 days after you activate a new line & they bill a month in advance.

That's mainly it. To be safe, wait at least 48 hrs after activating the Best Buy SIM before ordering the 30-day S22. Do it too soon and Fi system might not recognize your status as an existimg member, causing a lot of headaches. After activating the S22, you can remove the Fi SIM and use the phone with another provider's SIM, or leave the Fi SIM in place and use the eSIM for other carriers.

Thanks! It seems a phone is needed to activate the Fi SIM card? So I need to choose "Bringing your own Fi phone" and then use my own phone to activate the SIM and service. Then wait 48 hrs to order the new phone?

Yep. I used my Essential PH-1 to activate the Best Buy Fi SIM. There's an IMEI Checker on Fi web site to check and see if your phone is compatible with Fi. You can activate the Best Buy Fi SIM with a new phone number, no needs to port in.

Can someone please confirm how much you need to keep service active and pay service fee if you bought s22 as an existing customer?

I activated device yesterday and my month will end on feb 1. It shows keep the device activate for 30 days. I also got an email to earn $20 next month for refferal. Not sure if refferal will be sattle or I need to pay from credit card to finish 30 days active rule. TIA

Referrals are paid out after 30 days, so you're going to be paying for the first month

The cheapest is the Flexible Plan which is $20/month + about $7 in taxes & fees + any data used (billed in the following month).

If activated your S22 yesterday, then you need to keep it active through Feb 5. Since your current month ends on Feb 1, you'll have to pay for Feb 2 to Mar 2 to keep the S22 active. You can cancel on Feb 6 (after Fi Savings shows you've meet the terms) and you'll get a partial refund after 2-3 billing cycles.

Did you use someone's referral code when creating your account? If yes, that $20 referral credit will be come available for use 30 days after you activated your Fi service.

Just curios, is anyone still having problems getting their activation/countdown working correctly or all the problems have been resolved?
