165hz is plenty good for gaming. I don't see why'd you ever need more. And why put in a 3070ti if not for gaming? It's not a CAD GPU and overkill for graphic design work.

The screen is 1440p with 165hz refresh so it's quite good for gaming. It's a good option.

Wrong. It has a 1440p screen, not 4K and it is definitely for gaming and more.

Thanks, you're right, I am mixing this up with the Aero 16 which is a 4k.

So can somebody say what makes this better or the legion 5 pro better? The difference in price isn't an issue for me, I just am curious which one is better for gaming/watching shows

The legion 5 pro has a better brighter screen, more accurate colors. Not much other difference from what I see. Might want to ask the OP @Suryasis directly, they are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to laptops.

Adding to this, I doubt if this one has a mux switch. Someone could clarify it if it does.

What is that? To switch from dedicated to discreet GPU?

Yes. The Legion Pro has it, the Aorus does not. Overall the Legion Pro is better in build quality and overall performance as it can squeeze more wattage out the 3070ti

Fwiw unless you pull out a magnifying glass the difference in 4k and 2k is pretty hard to tell on a laptop screen, we demo'd a few laptops in store before buying last time and we both thought the 2k looked better ( likely due to it being more smooth with higher framerate? ).

Once it gets hooked up to an external screen (27inch in our case) it was noticeable when sitting about 2 feet away from the screen but just barely, but could have been just operating out of the normal default for that screen as well.

The Legion is probably more proven and solid, but there very few reviews on the Gigabyte. I've noticed the Legions are selling at a premium for like $200 - 400 more though. The Legion 5 pro with an AMD process and 3070Ti gpu already goes for $1400 from the lowest I've seen. The Gigabyte has a 3070Ti with an Intel processor. I'm certain the Intel processor is much better for productivity purposes, and the 3070Ti even though has lower wattage still provides good bang for the buck. General viewing content is definitely going to look better on the OLED screen on the Gigabyte though.

Also take into consideration that Nvidia 40 series graphics is just around the corner. A 3070Ti Lenovo with an Intel Processor is already above $1500.
