Adding to this, I doubt if this one has a mux switch. Someone could clarify it if it does.
Gaming performance wise, Legion 5 Pro is a better performer because
  1. It has 150W TGP 3070 Ti vs 130W on this.
  2. Legion has MUX but this one doesn't
  3. Legion has slightly better cooling.
  4. Legion does have slightly better build quality as well due to Metal Lid and 2022 models are also having metal Base.
  5. LP5 pro aslo has better selection of ports.
  6. One Cons for Legion 5 Pro is its heavy weight, 5.6 lbs vs 5.29 lbs for the laptop alone. On top of that, the 300W Power Brick of Legion is very heavy compared to the one supplied by Gigabyte. So, total carrying weight will be significantly higher with Legion 5 Pro, and not a great contender for portability.
Now having 16:10 display is better or worse is a personal preference depending what you're doing. Extra vertical space is better for productivity, browsing, documen works as it fits more to the screen. But gaming is actually better in Wider screen and a lot of people prefer 16:9 for that.
Regarding the quality of the display, both are similar in terms of color gamut, covering 100% sRGB and factory calibrated for highe color accuracy. Lenovo's Panel is significantly brighter, going over its 500 nits brightness, almost 533 nits whereas Aero 15's panel is around 300-340 nits. However, the contrast ratio is actually better in Gigabyte.

The deal is back ordered as of right now. Is that just a holding maneuver because it's a Black Friday deal? Or was it actually available at some point?

A $1,199 Legion 5 Pro won't give you 3070 Ti.
Legion 5i's CPU is comparable to this. However, 5's AMD is inferior, apparently.
Legion 5 Pro doesn't come with Thunderbolt 4.
Legion 5 Pro's PCIe is gen3 not 4.

Seems the newegg title has conflict info. It says both XE4 and XE5-73USB34SH.

I am not talking about the last year's AMD 5800H, RTX 3070 based Legion 5 Pro but this year's model with 12700H and RTX 3070 Ti, without brining the price. You're right about the price but I was simply giving a comparison between these two.

Legion 5/7 = AMD processor.
Lgion 5i/7i = Intel.
An Intel version of Legion has a significant premium over corresponding AMD version.

Off topic. I haven't done a BF shopping for more than 10 years. I assume stores don't do camp out anymore? All deals are online, correct?
