These guys do not stand by warranty claims. I am dealing with this issue right now. You have to go through them. Beware.

My Aeron is 20 years old. I just recently had to replace the gas cylinder. Beyond that it has been rock solid. I am 6'4" 220 lbs. Best chair ever.

They are great chairs that'll basically last a lifetime if not abused. I've got an Aeron, but I generally prefer my Steelcase Leap since I like to sit cross-legged on my chair fairly often.. not very comfortable on the Aeron with its frame for the mesh seat.

Yep, I'm 6'3" and over 300 and my Aeron C is 12 years old and still kicking. I'm only just now upgrading to the newer model because I want the improved lumbar support. But yeah, I think I bought it for $900 and for 12 years, well, that's a pretty good return on an office chair. Not to mention I'll be able to sell my old one for a few hundred bucks probably.

I first leaned about Herman miller about 20 or so years ago when my accounting firm bought them for the conference room. Ever since then I wanted to get one but I couldn't afford it.

Earlier this year, I came across a neighborhood garage sale and lucky for me, they were selling it for a giveaway price so I bought it quickly.

Six month into using it, no complaints whatsoever. I work from home three days a week so it's Getting used daily.

For those considering the Aeron, and if you can't afford a new one, don't hesitate at a used one. It's a chair, not a car so buy with confidence.

These prices are still higher than ordering direct from HM through a reseller any time of the year. Got my customized Embody for $1100 with no sale.

Both stores are offering 25% off. Also, depending on which state you live in, OfficeDesigns does not charge sales tax, which results in significant added savings. I bought my Embody through them last week.

Edit: Fair warning though for anyone who buys through OfficeDesigns: you will need to assemble the chair yourself (I believe HM ships chairs in an already assembled state), but it didn't take me too long to figure out how to put it together; it's just a few key pieces.

yikes, the 746 chair has a fixed armrest and no lumbar...lol..200 extra for the adjustable armrest. ill be happy with the used Aeron I got off CL for 300

why do you/people love these chairs so much? I need a chair but it's hard to pull the trigger on a chair in this price range without touching it or knowing what makes herman miller so good.

Herman Miller is widely used and pretty much the staple brand in the "office space" for all the obvious good reasons ("Build/Structure, Quality, Comfort, 12Yr Warranty/Support"), but at the end of the day ""Build, Quality, Comfort" varies per person.

Since you haven't had any experience with HM, it is VERY IMPORTANT to go out and test out these chairs, which is easily available to do so in their stores.
