There is nothing inherently wrong with a plastic tub. Plus, it is 300 installed with a 4 year warranty. This is same type of person that complains on laptop threads about cheap devices not having ssd or a better gpu.

Wait til your heating element malfunctions and burns the plastic tub and almost starts a fire like mine did. Lucky I was home. I will never have a plastic tub for this reason I don't care how cheap the dishwasher is. Not worth the risk IMO.

This is a lukewarm deal. A plastic tub doesn't hold the heat as well as stainless, in turn, it won't clean as well. It's not as hygienic. It's a drawback. It isn't the end of the world but saying it doesn't matter is incorrect.

haha we have 22 rental units, all with dishwashers, all plastic tubs even the super cheapo GE dial ones, and even with careless and irresponsible tenants this has never happened. what the hell did you do, drop a heavy pot on it ???

Friends don't let friends buy Kenmore appliances these days. Nothing but trouble with several i know on their newer appliances and though support seems to be decent (replacements).. Going with a working appliance for a while in between must suck. (in laws on 3rd otr microwave and about to receive 3rd fridge in 5 years for instance.

all depends on who made it for Kenmore at the time. we have older Kenmore dishwashers going strong as well, made by Whirlpool. This one is made by whirlpool

we have Kenmore washers and dryers from the early 90's still going strong...the old super-reliable coveted direct drive Whirlpool designs

back then, Kenmore spec'd out better than the manufacturer who made it for them
today, Kenmores are typically cheapened out versions or straight up re-brands of off-brands

example - Kenmore switched to south korean companies to make their fridges in recent times (if they even still do fridges, I don't know). Kenmore didn't even use LG or Samsung, they stooped all the way down and used Daewoo to make their fridges as lowest cost bidder.

Great deal! Regarding plastic tub…I've had my dishwasher for 5 years and going strong. Cleans well! It's a Frigidaire. Over exaggerated response on plastic vs stainless steel!
