There is nothing inherently wrong with a plastic tub. Plus, it is 300 installed with a 4 year warranty. This is same type of person that complains on laptop threads about cheap devices not having ssd or a better gpu.

Plastic Tubs....
The water can not get as hot as with steel tubs, therefore your dishes get more sanitary when you use steel tubs.

That is a generic claim that pops up and repeated when reading about dishwasher feature options on various sites. There is more marketing involved in that claim than reality. Steel CAN handle more heat but do manufactures actually use different setpoints and temperatures for each type/model in practice? Keep in mind even a stainless tub model still has a plastic screen, filter, basin catch under the tub, pump housing, hoses, impeller, coated racks, silverware tray, drawer wheels and so on.
My current Frigidaire dishwasher is plastic and has the same three water temperature options as my previous model. The manual states the sanitize option raises water temperature to about 156F. Comparing to a similar model but stainless the manual claims sanitize is the same exact 156F.
I looked at some manuals for random Whirlpool models at Lowes (stainless and plastic). Specific temperatures were not listed in the manuals but they all claimed that the sanitize cycles meet "NSF/ANSI Standard 184 for Residential Dishwashers" which is a minimum of 150F. Reference: https://www.nsf.org/consumer-reso...tification

It would be wrong to assume because a model is stainless inside, it will run hotter or be "more sanitary". It will wholly depend on the specific models programing. If you want higher temps, compare that specific parameter directly and not just "is it stainless". Some manufactures do not even provide the temperature details of cycles in the manuals either so comparison will not be easy.

Anybody have this delivered and installed yet?

Mine is expected to be delivered tomorrow.

I'm also wondering if this can be used as a standalone appliance in the basement like a washer or if it needs to be installed within a cabinet setup?
Did you receive the dishwasher? End up being standard in a cabinet setup I.e. 24" depth, or what?

Got mine and just installed it in one of our rentals myself, very impressive as it has a stainless steel tub and came with cord and supply hose. Quality feels like what I would expect from an $800 dishwasher.

Can you comment on the depth question re 24" or 27", ie will it fit a standard cabinet setup?
