Do you even have a PS5?
PS5 only cares about gen 4. It could be the worst gen4 and PS5 don't give a crap.
And based on review, as well as my own experience, no game to date take advantage of gen 4 speed. Even the worst gen 4 SSD tested by digital foundry shows no meaningful difference between the inetnal drive, and the best gen4 disk

I understand this only has a read speed of 3500 mbps and PS5 recommends 5500 mbps but can anyone attest it runs current PS5 games with no noticeable performance or loading speed issues compared to the internal storage? I know that the speeds could effect future PS5 games that utilize those higher speeds.

This or the Solidigm P41 from Newegg for $109.99? Either drive would be a secondary storage drive in my PC, boot drive is a 980 Pro. Thanks

I am sticking with the Microcenter Inland 2 TB for $70 OTD with which I am getting 2400 mbps. I can't justify the higher speeds for double the price just yet for my application (gaming on laptop).

If you have a micro center, you may want to subscribe to their notify list. This did come back in stock at most stores. Also, calling the main microcenter hotline should be able to tell you exactly when it will be back in stock. They were even able to see the stock in transit and advise when exactly it would be available in store. Hope that helps.

Yes, this is always the secondary drive and keep the wd blue as the bootable primary

It won't even work. Ps5 notices when you have an nvme that doesn't meet the required speeds and doesn't let you proceed
It only cares if you have a gen4 drive or not. Digital Foundry did an analysis [youtube.com]on cheaper slower gen4 drives and they found out that there is very little difference in terms of performance on the PS5. Most people won't even notice.

They don't officially say. Kingston doesn't guarantee the components of their lower end drives like this, they only promise some basic minimum performance. Early units have been TLC, but they could switch to QLC at any point.

This seems like a Gen 3 drive marketed as a Gen 4 drive. :|

The Gen 3 versions of SK Hynix P31 and Samsung 970 Evo Plus have same read, but faster write.
3500mb/s - 2300mb/s - Kingston
3500mb/s - 3200mb/s - SK Hynix P31 ($150 2tb @ amazon)
3500mb/s - 3300mb/s - Samsung 970 Evo Plus (Has been $150 many times)

I'd personally go with one of the the other drives, based on name and speeds. They cost a little more, but have been around longer and are proven.

The "endurance" spec is so low for the Inland. You might not reach it but it's a 3rd of the bigger guys.
